We did Cinderella's Castle for dinner last year and while the whole character dining experience was wonderful, I was not impressed with the food, at all! Has anyone done it for breakfast??

We also did Crystal Palace for breakfast, it was my all time fave! Has anyone done this for dinner?

Trying to switch it up a bit this year.

Any recommendations/suggestions would be helpful, Thanks! :)

We did CRT for breakfast & CP for dinner.

CRT: DH & DD had the basic breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuit. They brought out a bowl of fruit for sharing. I can't remember what I had, but it was good.

CP: It was a basic family-style buffet. Tasted fine, but nothing outstanding, IMO.

We have done Crystal Palace for both breakfast and dinner. We really enjoyed both. We have also done Cinderella's Castle for both breakfast and dinner. We definitely preferred the dinner at the Castle. The breakfast was just "ok" for us. There are many other places that we would rather eat breakfast, such as Cape May and Donald's Safari Breakfast.

CRT is great for breakfast.

We have done dinner and breakfast at CP and I like breakfast better. Dinner is good, just nothing to rave about.

Did it for breakfast a couple of weeks ago.

Everyone starts out with OJ, fruit, and pastries. The fruit and pastries were decent, but not as good as I'd hoped (I'd read many reviews stating that the fruit and pastries are the best part of the meal).

Then, technically, the're supposed to let you order from 3 different choices. That never happened for us and we all got the eggs, meat, and potatoes.

The eggs and potatoes were actually better than I thought they'd be (and I'm not much of a breakfast potato person) so we didn't complain. The meat (bacon and sausage) was average.

We were in and out in less than an hour (had an 8:15 ADR but were let in with those that had an 8 am ADR).

Overall, I liked the character buffets better (we did Crystal Palace, Cape May, and Tusker House) because you could choose exactly what you wanted from a larger selection (with comparable, if not better quality than CRT). In addition, they felt more laid back and were less rushed (especially Cape May). Moreover, they were cheaper (or only required 1 TS credit instead of 2).

The best things about CRT are:

(1) You get to eat in the castle and see princesses (in addition to Cinderella, we got Snow White, Auora, Jasmine, and Belle);

(2) You can get into MK early (although Crystal Palace provides the same benefit);

(3) If you have one of the earliest ADR's you can be one of the very first into Fantasyland;

(4) Unlike a buffet, you don't have to worry about missing characters when getting food because you're being served; and

(5) It's a magical way to kick off a WDW trip (especially if you're with people who've never before been to WDW).

I did it on the first morning of our trip with my wife, kids and MIL, all of whom had never been to WDW. I might do CRT again, but only if on the DxDP (where I have credits to burn) with someone who's never before eaten in the Castle who, I think, would enjoy it for the experience alone.
