Has anyone done a party night with a baby? Do you recommend it? Any tips? We will have a nine month old in December and I feel like we should do the party since we will be there (Me,DH,DS 11 plus baby). My husband says he doesn't think it will be worth it to be hauling the baby around so late trying to get stuff done. I can live without doing it but it's tempting. I'd love to hear feedback from anyone who has done it before- thanks!

we went with our 15 month old. we lasted until about 10ish, but she fell asleep in her stroller before that. we went the same day we arrived, which in theory looked good but in actuality was not- and I think that is why we crashed and did not do really anything we wanted to at the party. if you are planning on going I suggest taking the first half of the day as a pool day/relax day, or atleast a chunck of the afternoon to rest up before going out.

Our son was 9 months old on his first trip (DD was 7) and we did MVMCP and stayed until the end of the party. DD had a great time and was wide awake, and our son was happy to sleep in the stroller. It was a total non-issue for us. I just stopped to nurse, change, and feed him as necessary and when I did, DD and DH rode rides, and we'd use our rider switch passes after DS was taken care of.

The baby is free! Its the biggest MVMCP discount you'll ever get!

Like the rest of the vacation, it's about the older child(ren) and the parents, not the baby. We were always "if you have to care for a baby, it might as well be at a fun and accommodating place like WDW"

Ideally, the baby will be asleep most of the party, the chances of getting the perfect family postcard picture is low.

We enjoyed a party with a 6mo. but we were used to late nights, strolling a sleeping baby around.

What are you planning to do during the party? Baby watching and parade spot holding are kinda compatible activities.

Probably the parade and definitely the rides and character meets... I'm glad to hear that it sounds like it was a non-issue for everyone!

We took our, at the time, 11 month old last year. We put her in the baby carrier around the start of the first parade which allowed her to fall asleep when she was ready. We have a 4 year old as well so we only stayed until the end of the fireworks but she was totally fine. She slept through most of it, woke up when we put her in the car to drive back to our resort, and then went back to sleep once we got back to our room. I think it really depends on how easy-going your child is. Her brother isn't nearly as flexible (his first party was when he was 2.5 and it didn't go nearly as well).

Went first time with 6 and 4 y/o with no issues

Been back every year and added 2 more kids as well.

Both were around 8-9 months at their first visit

No issues although youngest 2 fell asleep in stroller so wife and I swapped each other out to ride with older 2

Stayed till the end each time and rode ride after ride without any issues while younger 2 slept

We went to both MNSSHP and MVMCP with our then 12-month old daughter. She did very well - and ended up falling asleep in the stroller around 830p, while we continued to take turns and go on rides. Get pictures right when you get there because most likely baby will fall asleep but I agree with previous posters - while baby is free, take advantage! This is our 3rd trip in 7 months for that very reason! Have to get 1 more "free" trip in for our toddler before she becomes a big sister in a few months!

I took my 9-mo to MNSSHP. He lasted until 9:30 or so, enjoyed the parade and rides. Once he fell asleep, he was either in the stroller or a carrier. We stayed until the end, it was great!

My problem isn't the kids, it's coaxing DH, after a day of kid-wrangling, to stay at the parks past 10. I think if I try a party again it will just be me and my older DS while dad and baby have an early bedtime in the room.
