Anyone do Castaway Snorkel By Boat Adventure (C89)?

Back in 2011 we did. I don’t remember getting on the boat I only remember trying to get back on the boat. I imagine it’s changed over the past 12 years to what degree I can’t tell you, but back then there was a very strong current, and all of the children and teens had a great amount of difficulty with the strong current. All of the teens were back in the boat first. My husband and I struggled with the strength of the current also. I’m not sure if they do use the same place as when I went. I guess that would be good questions for you to ask. I had booked three snorkeling adventures. One was canceled, which left this castaway cay in second place.

@Snowwhyt Thanks.

And I couldn‘t tell if this was something new - I thought I had done any excursion there that might interest me. Basically, one and done for most things.

We’re hoping to book a future cruise with stops at CC - but will be on the island in September. I’ll try to remember to stop by Marge’s to size up the boat then. (I cancelled the excursion for September, since we get to CC a little late).

We did jet skis to a sand bar years ago. That part was fun - but it wasn’t loading onto a boat.

I would not recommend the one we went on to anyone honestly and that’s primarily because of the current was so strong. But maybe it’s different if they now go to a different side of the island. I read reviews as much as I can. I enjoy snorkeling though.

I am here looking for similar info. It's hard to find reviews on the specific snorkeling one called "Castaway Snorkel by Boat Adventure" that I have booked. I read that the "free" snorkeling is pretty blah and this is why we're going, so don't want to end the cruise on a bad note.
it's $79 for kids and $95 for adults, so trying to find reviews!

We did it this week (well yesterday)

We really liked it and will probably do it again in the future. You do need to be a good swimmer or have good swimmers if kiddos aren’t as the snorkel spot is deep and you are there for approximately 45 min (though you can get on and off the boat as needed)

We met at the docks and were escorted to the boat with about 30ish others. It took about 45 min on the boat for the safety info, equipment pass out and drive to the snorkeling spot. They had 2-3 lifeguards in the water and would call you back if you went too far but otherwise it was free swim. We saw quite a few fish & the reef- Then they drove 5-10 min out to a sandbar (which had a few hundred meter swim from the boat) I expected more sand but it was pleasant. The tour guides found a conch and sliced it up for people to try- on the trip back they played music and chatted about the history of the area-

They provided water, rum punch (only after snorkeling) and fruit punch (though they ran out)

I didn’t think to take useful pictures but here are a few-

That's great, thanks for the info! 30ish people wasn't too crowded?
Curious what excursions your picked for Tortola and St. Thomas?!

We ported in St Maarten and Puerto Rico and did no official excursions- for St Maarten we took the water taxi to the main area walked around a bit visited the Yoda Guy museum and let the kid swim a bit on the beach.

For PR we walked to the fort and back stopping at different spots on the way there and back- I wish I had planned it better but it was still fun

And no wasn’t crowded (& was sold out) everyone had acceptable space- they let people go up to the front/top so it spread people out even more on the traveling parts-

It’s limited to age 6 and older and it was definitely tweens/teens/adults heavy with only a handful in the 6-8ish range
