Anyone do bio-identical hormone replacement therapy?

I am considering getting the blood tests and trying this. I've thought for years I had some hormonal imbalances. I have migraines, sleep issues, fatigue, etc. I am wondering how much insurance covers for this kind of thing and of course, if it even works. Any thoughts?

My DH is very pro bio-identical hormones and has encouraged several friends to try them. I believe they all love them.

I did. I went into early menopause. I started out with regular HRT. We kept trying to adjust that, but you can't really adjust much. My pharmacist is wonderful and he convinced me to do the testing (saliva test is better than the blood test).

Bio HRT was great for me!!! As my body adjusted and changed, it was easy to make slight adjustments to my meds in order to feel good. My insurance at the time was good and covered all except my co-pay. I used bio-HRT for about three years and then weaned myself off (because I was then post-meno) and have been fine since then.

It was a big ta-do to get tested and when all was said and done, they did nothing for me!

I just have a hard time with the FDA truth be told. They were touting
synthetic hormones for years and THEN found out that they were causing breast cancer.

Don't forget Big Pharma also spends lots and lots of money so that things go their way.

Unfortunately, it is getting harder and harder to believe that our government is always putting our best interests first.
