I was just reading in one of my books that it might work out well to do these two in the same day since BB is only 5 min from AK. Has anyone done this and if so, was there enough time for both? Which would you do in the am (I was thinking BB in the afternoon so it might be warmer).

The only problem with doing both in the same day is that both of these attactions should be done in the morning.

AK- The lines will be shorter in the morning and most animals are up and running around unlike afternoon or night.

BB- The morning is the only time in which you won't be spending more time in line then you do on the ride. The best bet is to get there when it opens and then ride everything you can until like noon, then head out.

Not necessarily true. The water parks clear out by 2-3pm. So theoretically you could do AK in the morning and BB in the late afternoon.

I have done this Many times, its usually a good way to relax after a visit, it breaks the day up. Leaving AK :dog2: and going to either BB or TL :umbrella: factor in weather and time of year :sunny: makes for a nice alternative, just takes some planning. :moped:
:mickeybar Have a great trip :earsgirl:

I have done this several times in August. Sometimes the bus drivers tell you that BB is closed b/c it's too full. But both times the bus drivers told us that we got off anyway figuring we could play mini golf if they didn't let us in. And when we went to the gate we were not turned away. So even if the bus driver tells you it's temporarily closed due to crowds try anyway. Doing AK and BB in one day works out very nicely.

Just wanted to say if the weather cooperates you should definetly try to do BB. Our kids are similiar in age and the water parks were so much fun with them. The big raft ride that everyone in your family sits in together is just awesome. Have a great trip!

We did Typhoon Lagoon upon opening and in 2 hours did the watercoaster 5 times, all the slides at least once and then spent some time in the wave pool. The key is "upon opening". We did this on the night of AK EMH. We got to AK just before the 3:00 parade and did Kali River Rapids 5 times in a row, absolutely no line. You have from 3:00 to 5:00 to do what you want in Africa and Asia, then the rest of the night the rest of the park is open.

There were no lines at all when we were there. Just make sure you check your time for Lion King and catch the show before the last one for the night. I think they have one show during night time EMH. We had plenty of time for dinner at Pizzafari and still left before 8:00 and got everything we wanted in. It was a nice day.

Two years ago we did AK and BB on the same day in January. Crowds were LOW, so we were finishing up AK by early afternoon. It was high 60's, sunny, and felt great at AK, so we thought we'd spend the rest of the afternoon at BB. We went back to POR, changed, and got to BB within an hour. Just a warning--take it as a bad sign if you're the only ones on the bus to BB, and the lifeguards are wearing coats. We had heard the water is heated, so we rode the chair lift to the highest point and got on the family raft ride. We realized our mistake when we went under a waterfall of ice water. What a long ride that was! The kids got back in the water for a little while, and I had coffee on the beach. I guess just make sure it's really warm enough. It's definitely doable in one day.
