Anyone concerned about the Coronavirus in WDW ?

Canada rations in other ways. Canada ranks dead last among similar countries when it comes to wait times for almost every type care according to a study from the Commonwealth Fund.

Like I said earlier, there are trade offs with every system.

It's not perfect here in Canada by any stretch, but for things such as MRI's, CT scans, etc. If it's urgent, they will get it done quick. If it's not, then yeah, the wait times aren't great. Having said that, I will still always support our healthcare system, because I have seen it do great things for people I know.

Heck, you should have been at the meeting with my state senator on Saturday. Someone asked whether she would support sick leave (paid or unpaid) so people didn't have to make the untenable choice between reporting to work while ill OR potentially losing their job for being absent. The Senator called that idea "socialism." Follow up question was what's the waitress who has flu or Covid-19 supposed to do? Report to work (exposing customers) or be fired for non-attendance. The Senator's honest to god answer was "She should report and ask for alternate duties sweeping the floor." I WISH I were kidding. What the hell kind of answer was that? Are we REALLY that heartless that we want flu stricken people to report to work? I was SMH. So pathetic.
I'm retired now but our attendance policy was strict. Even thou I was paid full salary from the first day, you were put on steps for each occurrence. If you hit step 4 the next time you called in... You were fired.

So.. There is this place called "Walt Disney World." I hear that a bunch of people go there every day, and that it is a super fun place to vacation. But this whole Coronavirus thing might.. well put a bit of a damper on the magic.

What concerns are people having regarding a possible upcoming trip to that particular place? Do you think they'll put more hand sanitizers out? Change how rooms are cleaned/disinfected? In other words- Is anyone concerned about the Coronavirus in WDW?

edit- I tried...

Insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, the VA, etc all ration care in one way or another. Rationing care doesn't always mean you can't get the treatment. It can be the cost associated with the treatment, wait times, etc..

Ok, cause when you made the first statement about rationing care, it seemed as though you were citing it as a specific flaw of national healthcare systems, and as if we did not have the rationing here.

Nationalized health care means cost must be controlled and controlled costs mean rationing of care.

Canada has 366 MRI machines.... for the entire country. Hate to break it to you, but the US has the most per population density, making it the most available advanced imaging diagnostic test in the world.

Few years old, but still applicable: https://www.statista.com/statistics/282401/density-of-magnetic-resonance-imaging-units-by-country/

Not for nothing, I'm watching CNN right now and Wolf Blitzer just asked the doctor "Would you consider going to a place like Disney World right now" and she said "Well, honestly, no."

My husband even gasped a little.

Pence was asked the same earlier during a press conference but he dodged the question.

FWIW, hand sanitizer dispensers are being installed throughout the parks.

Also, will y'all all please respect Doc's request and drop the debating about the respective merits of various healthcare systems? (I just do NOT get why people continue to do that repeatedly on a thread when reminded not to. One rogue comment in the heat of the moment I can understand, but when you keep coming back to it over and over, it looks a heck of a lot like trolling.)

Bloomberg just said people wouldn’t be willing to go to Disney World if you lowered interest rates during his town hall. Little weird, not sure where he wanted to go with what he was saying and not sure he fully thought it before saying it.

Ugh. My wife just decided we're going tomorrow and not trying to cancel. Really starting to feel like we're being negligent.

I saw Dr Redfield (CDC) earlier. He said folks should be proactive (wash hands, etc) but not stop living their lives. So IDK...

Yes I am going to delete my also and say lastly that I agree with you that we should get informed info from all, not just platitudes or slogans or whatever.

I’m going to WDW in 3 weeks.
Looking forward to walking straight on to SDD , 7DMT, and ROTR.

You really think a pandemic will shorten those particular ride lines? Rumor has it, that even on park opening, there are people waiting for 7DMT from the day before, thus why there is a 90-minute queue even at rope drop. I think you are having a bit of wishful thinking ;)

Yes to clarify, the doctor was doing a set interview with Blitzer. This wasn't during the official press conference earlier. In case I wasn't clear.
