Anyone buy DVC without spouses knowledge?

If you're pregnant without his knowledge, hopefully you'll tell him before you're big enough that he notices on his own. :rotfl:

I had to laugh at my mistake too! :rotfl2: Really, I would hope for a surprise pregnancy given that we have been trying for six years! Going on Disney trips and owning DVC has helped the waiting period.

I would never sign DW's name to an add on contract, evah.;)

I know this was not directed particularly at me but wanted to comment since I am one of those who bought more points and didn't bother to tell my spouse.

The last time I purchased more points (on the members cruise) I did not have my husband's name on the new master contract so I was not signing anything for him. Even with permission I would never sign his name to anything.

Thinking on it, I also did our AKV add on without mentioning it to him first. The paperwork came, I said "here sign this, I just bought X amount of points at AKV" and he signed; it was no big deal.

I did, but it was from my inheritance and our present to us for our wedding. I figured 42 years of vacations was a pretty good present!

I'm more in to Disney, but now after 10 vacations (7 dvc) he loves it as a place to go and relax and unwind. He's even the one talking about add-ons now!

I wish I didn't have too, but I did. In fact, I sign my Dh's name to his pay checks. He doesn't think it is a big deal and actually was put off that I didn't want to sign his name when we first got married. ;)

Not only do I sign my DH's paychecks I write them out of his business account, sign them, and deposit them. I told him yesterday I was adding on 55 points and started to explain why and he stopped me and said, 'I'm sure you have analyzed it to the nth degree, just go ahead.' I plan on signing the papers today. If I even tried to hand him all the papers to sign he would be upset.

I would not do this without my spouses knowledge. We have a similar rule as another had mentioned except our amount is $50. Kinda kow, I probably need to update it for inflation :) .

Fortunately we all love disney in this family. Bought our first contract ( 250 points OKW ) back in 2000, and added 150 AKV points this year. It wasn't even a discussion of "if" to buy, but "how much". Will be back on-site in another 48 days, 19 hours.

Yes, I am counting !

Yes, I think $50 is kind of low. :rotfl: That's like one shirt for my son at say, Abercrombie. Add a pair of jeans and a tee-shirt and you are way over!

My husband does not care about purchases of clothing, jackets, shoes etc for our children or myself. Nor does he care how much I spend on the clothing I buy him. He doesn't care about money for groceries, draperies, painters, landscaping, etc. In fact, when I discuss these topics with him, I know he is only pretending to be interested. I can actually see his eyes start to glass over when I talk about the molding I want to have put in the foyer.

I wouldn't buy something like DVC with out him knowing about it. However, I know that if I truely wanted a DVC contract, I could convince him that we needed to buy it. He always jokingly tells people that if he wants to make decisions, he goes to work. :goodvibes
