Anyone bumped from Savannah View at AKV?

With the construction and movement of animals from the savannah beginning this week, has anyone been notified that they will not get their savannah view?? We have ressies beginning Feb. 1st and have been anxiously getting the daily mail expecting notice on ours but it hasn't come yet, and I sure hope it doesn't.

Your thread title is a little misleading. No one is being bumped from a Savannah view room with the current construction. The only thing that is happening is the animals are being removed, but the Savannah is still there.

I understand the savannah is still there. Basically the reason to reserve a savannah view is to see the animals, or at least that is the way we see it. My verbage may have been incorrect, but I appreciate your reply erionm.

There was a post from someone who was bumped a week before, so it's still possible. How far ahead did you book? It is supposed to be determined by date of reservation but there was someone bumped for this weekend who booked at 11 months. By the way, I saw a post on the AOL board that said the animals were still there Friday.

When are the animals being removed??? I'd read it was January 15th, but as I sit here typing a big old cattle type animal is happily laying under the tree he seems to like. No doubt the giraffe, 2 zebra and 4 ostrich I've been seeing since I arrived Jan 16th will be back, too. I'm in a concierge room overlooking the Sunset Savannah - and I was pleasantly shocked to arrive & see the animals out there!

Thank you for the replies. We are booked for Feb. 1st but the ressie wasn't made until about 8 or 9 months out. We have been long time BWV owners and added on at the AKV on a cruise we took last spring. We had some developer's points to use up and I told member services I would take any week they could get 6 days in a row in a savannah view 1 bdr. When I called this was the only week available, so clearly many others had already made their ressies. We actually were assuming we would be the ones not to get the view as we didn't make them 11 months out. The original message said they would notify you 1 month prior to arrival, but it sounds like that is not accurate either. I know we'll still love our stay but sure hope we get to see the animals up close.

That's what I've been saying... just because DVC announces the animals MAY be gone for such a long period, it doesn't mean they WILL be gone. I'm sure they announce a conservative timeframe and way overestimate the time that the animals won't be there.
