Slightly off topic but what's the best way to put in a block request? It's a month tomorrow til we go so will get onto it now trying to request Congress Park

Best way: add it to your reservation via whoever you booked with.

I would also write to them a week or so before.When I requested at OKW my letter was attached to a form and the CM said it was nice to recieve a hand written request that was just an area and not a whole list of requirments like they either get verbally or by fax He told me that they dont allocate rooms till 72 hours before guests arrive. Have you not got your wdw reference number? Not sure whom you have booked with. Good luck. I hv requested either congress park/grandstand.Dont mind which

Booked through our travel agents (one of my best friend's dad) but they just booked it through the WDTC so the same price as I could have got DIY but with a bit of piece of mind.

Got a UK Disney ref no as well as a US one (which doesn't always work ) so can add that too. Looked around for an email address but couldn't find one - guess it's the old fashioned way eh

We have had our upgrade so we are now staying at OKW, we decided on this resort as this is what we looked at when we were booking so now it's back to the planning.

Congrats, Cazzie! On the DVC-board here on the DIS there is a OKW-lovers thread where you can find a lot of info and pics. I loved checking that one out (and the SSR-one) when deciding if we'ld take the jump from CBR to a 2BR back in jan.

When we were looking at booking OKW originally, we were really struggling trying to decide whether the extra £400 to upgrade from a studio to a 1 bed was worth it, we decided that it wasn't, and booked a studio. We were happy with our choice, otherwise we wouldn't have booked it in the first place.

The fact that Disney has since then upgraded others from another hotel, doesn't bother us one bit, in fact, I think it's great - upgrades are a great surprise and fantastic bonus when you get them. It also means that one of my mates will be joining us at OKW for the last few days of our holiday having got an upgrade themselves. It doesn't bother me one bit the fact that we've paid more, because he saved just as hard as we did to pay of his holiday.

I'm surprised that there's focus on what other people are getting, and what other people are doing, my only concern is making sure that my family and I have the most amazing holiday.

we were contacted by Virgin earlier this week with same offer which really made us think, having done a bit of research and looking at the postings here
we have decided to stay with our original booking the main reasons being dining options seem limited at OKW and SSR for those on QSDP as it seems no uplift in DP with upgrade ( DS can be very particular about what he eats and having to worry that he is not eating is one less stress we can do without) If it had been just DW and myself probably not an issue in changing. We would also miss the boat rides to/from DTD.
