Anyone been to Hocking Hills Ohio??

Just to add to what Tiffany123 posted - I live in Mason (just north of Cincy), where the Great Wolf Lodge just opened and they are having pretty good deals there until about 3/22. While here, if the weather is not good (likely in March), you could go to the Cincinnati Museum Center. We just took our kids again last week (ages 10, 10, and 6!) and they had a blast. The Natural History Museum is their favorite, since it features a "cave" (which is amazingly realistic) to hike through. There is also an IMAX theater there, and I think that the special Titanic exhibit might still be there in March.

BTW, we had a great time in Indy at YOUR indoor waterpark and Children's Museum a couple of years ago!

Thanks to everyone for the tips on Hocking Hills, as well! We were "transplanted" here to OH a few years ago, and I had never heard of the area until this thread, but it sounds like a great place to go for a getaway. I will be checking into it for us this Spring!:)

I had no idea the Titanic exhibit was in Cincinnati!!! Maybe we will do that! It has always fascinated me! We have never been to the museums there, just Kings Island. Maybe we will give it a try!!! Not far from home either! About 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Thanks for the tip!!!:cool1:

Thought you might like to take a look at our cabins in the Hocking Hills.

It really is beautiful here. Any season is good for hiking, shopping or just plain relaxing.
Our cabins are just 2 years old and are secluded in a beautiful wooded setting. The area has about 200 cabins with a wide range of rates.
Small cabin businesses like ours have to charge much less, while offering just as much and even more.
You can search 1800hocking.com or hockinghills.com to view the options, ranging from campgrounds to camping cabins to bed & breakfast to rustic log cabins to luxury log cabins to lodges.
Have fun searching and I hope you decide to visit the area. It really is a beautiful place to live and play.

Hocking Hills is beautiful! I haven't been there for long time. I would love to go back. We were going to go couple of years ago. but DH had back surgery so we could not. There are tons of different kind of cabins there.

We us to go all the time when I was a kid. It's so much to see. The rock house is neat and The falls. Oh, memories....

Hueston Woods has a nice lodge and it is not far from Cincinnati (right by Miami University). It is probably less than 2 hours from Indy. They have cabins too (but we haven't seen those, the lodge has an indoor pool).

Hocking Hills would be lovely in the summer, but in March, I don't think it would be that nice. Of course, Hueston Woods would be the same weather, but it is closer and the lodge has the indoor pool (if you are wanting something in the woods).

What about the Aquarium in Cinci? I've heard that place is awesome! (Or is that officially in KY? :teeth: )

I'm in NE Ohio and we have quite a few indoor water parks around us - they are all sold out for Spring Break already or I'd mention those (but I will anyway if anyone is interested! Kalahari, Great Wolf, Castaway Bay) and there is also Mohician and Salt Fork - but I'd tell you to to that in the summer so you can kayak and horseback ride in the area. Hocking Hills isn't as commericalized as these two, but are just as beautiful!
And I agree with everyone else that weather in Ohio is too iffy for enjoying yourselves!

Whatever you decide, I hope you have fun!!!
