Anyone been to DA today?

P.I.N.S. is supposed to be having that
pinpalooza thing today...

Am I the only one NOT seeing the $1
pins and the deals they promised for
today? Or is there some SPECIAL link?

Just checking! Today IS THURSDAY, MAY 20th
right??? 2004 right???

Please let me know... need to know it's
NOT just me!

they have been talking about it for weeks and
it is all over their message boards...

I also read it somewhere else on an official Disney site...

Naw, they're not on deals either...
I thought I understood that if you went to the
main PINS link that there they'd be!

oh well! Guess I don't need to be spending money anyway!

When you go to check out, it has a special offers area. Enter PINS2004, and make sure you APPLY it before you click 'ok' or it won't count. That'll get you the free GWP. Dunno about the $1 deals yet.

Yeah, I saw that, I had 3 auctions from last week that
I was able to check out and still get the pin with the
code...

Is anyone else annoyed that the "special pins"
that you are supposed to receive for each checkout
with this Pinpalooza event are getting snatched
up at an unbelievable rate?

There are people on "that other board" that state
they have checked out up to 12 times... netting them
12 GWP pins! That means that ONE person is
going to get 12 "special" pins...
how is that supposed to be fair?
I know that DA says one per checkout, but isn't it
really a shame for the Ohana to be greedy & only thinking
of themselves? I mean, why not leave some pins
for the rest of us? At a rate of 12 per person, those
18,800 pins they have available are going to go
FAST! They would have been wiser to make it like
DLR GWP... make them spend a certain amount
before getting a freebee!

Again, overly disgusted with the practices of the
Ohana...

The way I look at it those pins aren't free. Everytime you check out you are paying Disney's extraordinary shipping fees. It seems to to me I am paying the extra shipping fee to get a "free" pin. Not worth it to me. If I get the one I want, Maleficent, fine, if not I'll either trade for it or live with out it.

I'm sure there will be a thread in about a week that says "I checked out 12 times and got 12 (stick least desirable pin here)!!"

I don't care for it, but it's no worse than going to the parks on GWP day and watching folks buy one thing to get the gift, then get back in line to buy something else to get another. I watch folks do that with everything, not just pins.

The postage IS a problem... but I didn't get charged any
'extra' postage with my measly 3 pin order... usually
it is $4.95 for the first pin and $1 each addl.
yes, the postage is ALOT, however, it still isn't fair
that they are hording ALL those pins!

Hopefully you are correct... depending on how they do
their processes in shipping, maybe they will be putting
the 50 stitch out first, then going to the 100's, then
the 250's, etc... maybe all their boxes will be processed
within that same short amount of time when that certain
pin is being given out...

So, you are right they might get 12 of the same pin...

I just hope that I end up getting something good and
tradeworthy... much less what I want - Pluto ofcourse!

yes, that is true, I guess they do things differently depending
on where you are, because at DLR it is all by DOLLAR AMT...
if you spend $15 you get one GWP pin, $30 you get 2 and so
on... and that is after the AP discount is processed! I once
held off on my purchases til Sunday so I could get the most
out of the GWP thing... I got over 30 Jasmines in ONE purchase!
But atleast it was later in the day after most people had their
chance! I'm not just plain greedy like trying to get them all
before they are gone. And I let others go ahead of me.

I may not be able to get any of the GWP pins because quite frankly, I am too broke to buy any more of the DA PINS right now. I am not going to mourn the loss of a GWP pins that I won't have a shot at. It's not that big of a deal to me. Maggie
