Anybody own a Saturn?

In 1998 when I had JUST gone on maternity leave, DH's car up and died and we ended up buying a '99 Saturn SC1, as we could get it new as cheap as used similar models of Chevys and such. Anyway, we love it very much. It has over 150,000 miles on it and has never had a problem. DH commutes 60 miles per day in it. It gets 35mpg :goodvibes

When the time came for me to get a new car we didn't really find anything else that had the bang for the buck in the price department that Saturns do, and we also looked very carefully at the safety ratings. I have side curtain air bags, antilock brakes, etc. I have a '02 Saturn L sedan and I am very happy with it.

I want a Relay very badly as the only problem with my L100 is that I can't carpool (only room for 1 other child besides my two girls), but I'm not sure how the gas milage compares to my L100 and we really can't afford a new car right now anyway...but when the day comes, it will be a Saturn :goodvibes

I had a Saturn for 9 years and loved it. I would have gotten another one, but they didn't make a mini-van when I was buying. My neighbor has an L-200, and those cars are super sweet. I'd buy one if I was looking for a sedan.

The car buying experience with Saturn is wonderful, and the Saturn dealers always have the best service for oil changes, repairs, etc. The service garage is too clean, they are very thorough in both their work and communication, and they give you little treats like candy and donuts.

I think our family of 4 has owned 4 Saturns, and the one used car we bought that wasn't a Saturn was purchased from the Saturn dealership. Currently I have a Saturn 99 SL-1 with about 85,000 miles on it and it ran great until I had a wreck early Monday morning. We'll see how it survives the repair, but I can't blame the accident on Saturn. DW also had an SL-1 that she traded for a VUE a couple of years ago and she is very happy with it. We also have found the buying experience at Saturn very pleasant as is dealing with the service department. :)

Had a '93 Saturn SW2 that I sold two years after I bought it. Very unusual for us, we usually hold onto our cars until the wheels fall off. This car just never felt comfortable to me...it ran o.k., though, I never could put my finger on what I didn't like about it. We exchanged it for a Subaru Outback that I greatly preferred, just felt like a safer and sturdier car to me.

I have a 2004 ION Quad Coupe. It's been almost 2 years since I got it, and I'm very happy with it. It was reasonably priced, the service was good, and maintenance costs are low. I also like their no haggle price policy. The price they listed on the internet was the price I paid.

I've dealt with the "typical car salesmen" who thought I didn't know anything because I'm a female, and I've experienced horrible service at my former car dealer's service center where they just looked at me and I had to go and approach them to pick up my car, so Saturn has been an extremely pleasant experience for me.

BF's sister has two VUEs, and she loves them.

I would recommend at least going down to your local dealership to check it out. I think most of us have had positive, low pressure experiences, and hopefully you will have the same. In fact, I practically had to ASK my salesman to sell me the car!

Last year we bought a 2004 Ion 3 brand new. We love it. It gets wonderful gas mileage and is plenty zippy around town. It is just a 4 cyl and does take a bit of urging to get up a big hill.

This year we bought a 2005 Vue and love it. We wanted something a bit bigger and this is perfect for us. It gets decent gas mileage not as good as my little Ion but still decent. I will say for those wondering that it cost $38 to fill it up the other day.

The customer service has been great and dealing with the sales people were no hassles at all. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

We bought DD, 19, an ION 3 two years ago this month. The safety rating is great (something DH & I wanted for a brand new driver) and we put it in my name & got 0% financing. The price was terrific & she got every bell & whistle except leather seats & sunroof for less than $17K!
The ION has plenty of pep & the only service so far in two years has been oil changes & a tire rotation.

At this point, I'd definitely consider a Saturn for myself too!

:jumping1:
