I don't...but then again I am only 20. I'll be turning 21 in March, and even when I will be legal I just don't see myself drinking. :confused3 I must be the only college kid on the face of the planet who doesn't drink...eh, so be it...it's just not my thing.
i thougth i was the only college student!!
i just turned 21 last week and i have had one strawberry daquiri since then..im not a big drinker at all--i dont like the drinks that all you taste is alcohol....i never drank in high school, except at family parties when i would have like a wine cooler or something..now that im legal, i still dont drink!
although i am on meds that if i drink alot, ill have seizures, but even without that, i wouldnt be a big drinker..

my brother on the other hand..... :rotfl:

My dh and I can't stand alcohol. Don't get me wrong we have TRIED to like it on several occasions (weddings, honeymoon, anniversaries) but BLECK!!! I hate that burning sensation in my stomach... The ONLY alcoholic coctail that I REALLY enjoyed was the Blue Hawaiin at the Hard Rock Cafe. :goodvibes

Nope, you're not alone. My DD is in college, and she also doesn't drink - neither does her boyfriend or the kids she hangs out with. As you said, it's not their thing.

As a family, none of us drink, and we really don't have any close friends or family who do drink (or smoke, for that matter).

I don't drink. Never have really. Part of it is a moral decision; however, most of it is due to a morbid fear of two things when I was younger: fear of vomiting and fear of losing control.

I never wanted to experience either and figured I would at some point if I were to ever drink to excess.

I admit it, I am the only one in my family that drinks!! My twin sister has never been buzzed in her life, while I was always the life of the party and drinking. I am starting to get my mom to like Strawberry Coladas, Malibu Margarita's and BBC's. I am a bad influence on my mom!!!

I don't drink alcohol, because there is a lot of addiction in my family. I do drink coffee though. Lots and Lots of coffee. I guess that's my alcohol, but at least I can't get a DWI for it.

I did drink Beer in my early 20's. I had an allergic reaction to wine. I haven't had a drink since I had my kids. Alcohol always made me really tired and I don't need any extra tiredness with kids!

I don't drink coffee either, never have. And only tea when I'm sick.

Oh, I don't think you're wierd at all......I don't drink at all either. Don't care for the taste.

Nother confession?.......I don't drink tea or coffee either.
Count me in...I don't like alcoholic drinks, tea, or coffee either.

I'm the same way. I have never enjoyed drinking. I would rather order a coke. It tastes better, and is five dollars cheaper!
Besides, if I do drink - I fall asleep.

Well, I am a currently a non-drinker and will be for 7 more months as I am pregnant. I do have a question though for those of you who do not drink alcohol. I know this sounds silly, but what do you order to drink when you go out to dinner? I usually get wine or a cocktail and I have found that most restaurants have very few choices available to those of us who need to avoid alcohol and caffeine. A few restaurants have freshly squeezed lemondade (YUM!!), but otherwise I wind up getting either water (boring!) or, if we go to an Italian or Mexican place I will be really really bad and have a coke (or two). I feel bad then, though, because I don't think it's good for the baby and it tends to keep me up at night especially since it is usually 8:00 or 9:00 by the time we eat. I really wish restaurants would offer decaf iced tea.

I often just order a glass of water with a lemon. Zero calories, and Zero dollars!

I don't drink any type of alcohal either. Just a personal preference not to. It was never forbidden to me, so perhaps thats why I have a complete lack of interest in it.

I did all my drinking when I was a teen to mid 20's. Nothing really bad happen when I was younger, I just don't like it anymore.

I will have a Mike's Hard Lemonade about once a year at most, but that's the only alcohol I drink. DH won't even drink that. And neither of us drink tea or coffee either.

As for restaurants? We'll order soda, lemonade or water---but it's not like we go to 5 star restaurants or anything. We're pretty casual people & rather boring to boot. :rotfl:

SplshMtn, I have to admit your post gave me a giggle. I don't think there's anyway you can weaken a mai tai to make it tolerable for someone that's not much of a drinker - there's 4 types of alcohol in the standard recipe ;)

My family likes to eat, drink, and be merry. The only person who doesn't drink is my brother who is currently on a health kick, and my 21yr old sister who prefers Shirley Temples, but will drink something if it's fruity.

Depending on the place, I'll get a strawberry or raspberry lemonade, a diet pepsi, or if it's a Mexican restaurant, a virgin margarita. BTW, not that I'm advocating this but I drank caffeinated drinks thru all my pregnancies (in moderation of course, not like a 2 liter a day) and my doctor was fine with it and my kids were all healthy. Just my experience.
