Anybody NOT a drinker?

Another non-drinker here. Just don't like the taste. My 22 year old DD thinks I'm nuts.

Used to enjoy a social drink but suddenly became allergic to alcohol. Can't even have anything with alcohol in it. Just call me the designated driver!

Thankfully my kids are learning that you don't have to have a drink in order to enjoy yourself.

I did my fair share in college and then the few years following. I developed high blood pressure and the dr recommended I cut back. So I did. Now I have a drink about once a year on our anniversary. DH is on pain meds for his arthritis so no drinking at all for him. Don't have anything against any adult having alcoholic beverages if they can do it in a mature fashion.

I don't like it when teens drink. That bothers me. The brain isn't developed enough until your twenty one. Alcohol interferes with the development of the brain intensley.

Not a big drinker. The occasional "foo-foo" drink, with fruit and umbrellas!!! Had some wine in Italy.

If the doctor told me tomorrow that I couldn't drink ever again, it wouldn't phase me a bit. More oftenthan not, I'll go for a soft drink.

I don't drink much coffee either. Iced coffee occasionally in the summer. Hot coffee with wedding cake only.

I do drink tea.

I dont drink, either. When all my friedns in high school and college were getting drunk , i was drinking soda. I just never acquired a taste for it. My parents were not drinkers, either so maybe that is one reason I do not drink. The only time i will have a drink is when i go out to a nice dinner which isnt often, i will have something like a Pina Colada, and then just 1. When I hear people talk about how fun it is to get drunk, I just will never understand the appeal.

I used to stop drinking (for religious reasons), but once i actually became more faithful, I realized that drinking wasn't a problem - it was the overindulgence. So, I partake of a fruity drink about 3 or 4 times a year. I don't drink coffee though (which people think is strange because i have worked night shift for almost 20 years). I'd rather have an iced tea most of the time, rather than a beer.

I never aquired the taste for alcohol. What little bit I have drunk over my lifetime would probably not fill a shotglass -- not counting Nyquil.
My parents were tea tottlers, as there parents were. I always wondered if that had anything to do with it. Yet I have an (very) alcoholic brother. So that theory goes out the window.
I think part of it I never liked the taste. Second, I always saw others make a complete idiot out themselves (or worse).

When I was a LITTLE girl I recall asking an uncle for a sip of his beer. Mom was horrified. But he allowed it. It was AWFUL!! I could not get the taste out of my mouth. That is really probably what did the trick!

Me, I don't drink at all. UNLESS, I'm on a Disney cruise. Then I have a tropical fruity mixed drink, just to make my cruising experience complete.

you're not alone... I can't even remember the last time I had a drink. I was never a big drinker either, I used to drink Kahlua Sombero's and chase it down with ice water... now, I just drink the ice water.
