Anybody like Ebates?

The trouble I have is that I do 90% of my online shopping through Amazon and Amazon doesn't work with ebates. :confused3 So I don't earn much...

I've been using ebates since 2011 and I've gotten almost $200 back. I did most of my Christmas shopping online and it really paid off. We also made some big purchases at the end of the year through Best Buy, Lowes and Home Depot, so I bought online but used the store pickup options. Loved that!

I go back and forth between ebates, quick rewards, and mypoints, and I've found the best rewards at mypoints. I've slowed way down on ebates too, but my big complaint with them is that if you pay with a gift card you don't get credit for the whole amount. For example, I recently had a purchase on Barnes & Noble (2% cash back) and my total (with tax) was $31. I paid about $25 worth on a gift card, and only got credited for the difference, which ended up being 12 cents as opposed to around 60. I know that 12 cents and 60 cents isn't a lot, but it does add up. Now, if I had purchased through mypoints, I would have received 31 points and while I don't compare the points to actual cash, it sounds better IMO...I seem to rack up mypoints points faster than ebates $$ and I used my mypoints to get Landry's gift cards to use at WDW...and we'll also get Walgreens gift cards to get Disney gift cards (even though the restaurant card are less points for the same $50). i think I only tried shopping through quickrewards once, and I don't think that I got the cash back reward :( Since joining quick rewards though, I've received about $150 in Disney Dollars, just from doing surveys and the daily clicks. The thing I do like best about quick rewards is that they DO have Disney gift cards, and all my rewards go toward our "Disney fund."

Mypoints points are "worth" about 1.46 cents each for the restaurant GCs I typically redeem for (chili's). So, at that conversion rate your B&N purchase would have given you 31 points, worth about 45 cents -- more than you got through ebates by paying with a gift card, but less than you'd have gotten if you paid some other way. :goodvibes

You could buy a gift card from EBates from a merchant that gives credit for GC purchases. Then use the gift card to buy your items from MyPoints:teacher:.

I do this with Lancome all the time... I buy a $75 GC from EBates (7%, sometimes 14% rebate) and then I purchase my products via MyPoints (4,000 points) so I "double-dip",

Excellent point! I'd love to double dip anyway I can!

Only $200 since 2000. 12 yrs. And I do check & use them. Clearly I am just not doing enough online shopping & spending money to save money. ;)

I love when ebates offer their bonuses. I use mypoints, ebates, fatwallet regularly, and just check who doing the best deal when I purchase.
