Anybody have the kind of success they are claiming in the Pilates web-site?

I just checked out the website for Pilates (thanks TigH) and it seems very impressive. Has anyone been doing the program for more than 8 weeks, did you see the remarkable results their website claims? It's only am here and I feel like running up to Target and hanging out in front until they open. Also which tape should I get, I'm leaning toward the 20 min tape, but I'm concerned it might be too difficult. I'm in pretty good condition, I'm up to 60 crunches a day and either a 30 min walk or if weather is permitting a 60 min bike ride. But I'm not one to push myself so maybe I should stick with the regular 30 min routine.

Thanks for your help,
Alice

Glad you checked out the site!

I hope we have someone here who has done it for 8 weeks! :)

I know that SideShowBob has done pilates (using the machines, I think) to help him with his back problems and he has really seen results. His "core" got so strong that his back problems were greatly diminished!

I think the success stories on the Winsor Pilates site are probably those "results not typical" type of thing, but who knows! I have heard great things about pilates in general. I'm hoping to work my way up to the 50 minute tape over the next few weeks. It could be that those people saw the results they did by doing the 50 minute tape AND following the diet that came with the pilates tape set shipment.

I don't know if you can buy them separately, but I haven't been to Target to see if they are sold that way either. Good luck! :)

I need to check out that web site, it sounds interesting.

I've been doing them fairly consistently for about 4 or 5 weeks now. Unfortunately I didn't take any measurements at the beginning so I can't say how many inches I've lost on the program. I know that with a combined diet and cardio exercises I've lost 10 lbs. but I wouldn't credit it solely to the Pilates. I and my husband also notice that I've definitely toned up my waist and touche (as Mari calls it). It's weird because I can feel my hip bones more than I used to and my touche is definitely more toned up so that I don't have that "panty line" bulge anymore (sorry guys!) Another sign they're working is that when my DH used to lay his arm on top of my middle sometimes I felt like it was too heavy but now my abs are strong enough to support the weight (if that makes sense).

I love my Pilates and intend to keep on doing them. It could be those people in the infomercial did the advanced tape the majority of the time while I'm still half/half. The advanced tape is still too much for me and I can only do about 2/3 of it but I like being able to use that as a benchmark of my advancement because I try do a little bit more every week.

Hope that helps!
