Anybody going Solo for the Food & Wine Festival?

I am going for my second solo trip to F&W, Nov 1-7. I went this same week last year and had a great time. As several PP have suggested, the first day there, I walked around the World Showcase and checked out all the kiosks. Then over the course of two evenings for dinner and one day for lunch, I was able to sample everything I wanted and had repeats of items I really liked.

I really enjoyed World Showcase at night as I had never been there after dark. It is a very friendly atmosphere and there was always someone to talk to, either in the (short) lines or to share a table with after I got my food.

I put $100 on one of the F&W cards and had $$ left over to spend on non food items at the gift shops. The card is the easiest way to pay for things. There is nothing to sign and you get a receipt with each transaction that shows the remaining balance on the card.

This year, I plan to go to at least one of the special dinners and some of the wine tastings.

It was great to use Disney transportation and not worry about how much wine I tasted if I was going to be behind the wheel. When I am driving I always limit myself to two glasses over several hours. By taking the bus, that is not a concern.

I'm going solo to F&W for the first time this year, for the sole purpose of seeing BTE play.

I have a question: the Epcot F&W website states "Three shows nightly at 5:15 pm, 6:30pm, and 7:45 pm.". Does this mean I will be able to catch six BTE shows on the two nights they play? And how soon can people stake out a spot in the audience?

Going solo to F&W Festival, by everyones comments it is going to be fantastic, well worth the trip from Australia to experience this.

As far as I know you can keep coming back to see them. I think they keep the area roped off until a certain time before they allow you to go in to sit.

Just heard from the parents that they are tossing the idea around of possibly taking the big ol' RV down to Ft. Wilderness in late Oct. If they do, I just might have to fly down and meet them ... I don't know if i can turn down an opportunity to hit F&W Fest once again. I also really want to check out Paradiso 37.

So as of now, there's a little growing chance I may be down one of the last two weeks of Oct.

I will be there! It will be my first time going to F&W since 2006, and I'm really looking forward to attending.

just got back last June 11... and it is a must see... Was not sure how it will go so I went by myself.. since the Disers I was with are not that fond of flavored(with alcohol :lmao:) drinks but one and she had left to fly back to Philly that day :( ... Started as a dessert and trying the brightest picture and by the 3rd drink... I have met 2 disers who were there solo and a neighbor(dvc neighbor) and we ended up trying everything on the list by sharing 4OZ shots of the drink... which was great since we got to taste everything.. by the time we cleaned up the bar... well according to Anthony(our dear sever) we were just helping them move shipment!!! :lmao: So yes!! a Solo trek to Paradiso 37 is worth it... loud music... busy crowd.. nice view and great servers(I was corrected they were not CM... they are servers!!!)... BY the time the neighbor's DH to pick her up.. he ordered a beer and he did it is the coldest beer he had!!! Perfect for the 100 degree weather outisde!!

Thanks for the head's up! ... Paradiso definately sounds like my kinda place. I'm not saying I'm a drunk, but as long as Disney is doing the driving, I tend to enjoy myself on my WDW vacations.

With the loss of the Adventurer's Club, I was wondering on whether Pleasure Island was worth hitting, or just sticking to the Boardwalk. But now it seems like there are two decent nighttime destinations: You've got the Boardwalk with ESPN, Big River, and Jellyrolls ... and now Pleasure Island has Raglan Road and Paradiso. Combine that with the F&W Fest, and I should be a happy camper if I make it down in Oct

Ok me and Matterhorn will be there 15Oct-19Oct. So be on the look out for us! Its going to be a fun time for sure! :cool1::cool1::cool1: and a little of :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I'll be solo Sept 25 - Oct 7. I am currently planning on going to the Party for the Senses on Oct 3.

As of this afternoon, we pulled the trigger and booked for Oct 18th - 24th! I'll be down with the parents, but most likely also wandering off to do my own thing throughout the week.
