Anybody else wish there was a Starbucks at Disney?

I LOVE my starbucks and i do miss it at WDW but i agree that the royal andapur (spelling is probably TOTALLY wrong) at animal kingdom has a good variety. ive never tried to coffee at Kona but i knew it was there and will probably break down and go there multiple times in september. :goodvibes

well, Starbucks is at least better than nescafe. We're currently staying at the GF, but I think the coffee options are better at both CR or Poly.

We are addicted to our Keurig brewer at home, I'm thinking of investing in a mini keurig for our upcoming trip. otherwise we'll bring our own coffee from home and get a few gallons of filtered water and just brew in our room.

my dh finds the Via instant coffee to be ok, but I really think it is horrid

It definitely depends upon the kind of coffee/coffee drinks you like.

I will have a cup of regular coffee with my breakfast (looking forward to a French Press @ Kona!) but unless I'm sitting down to a meal - if I just want a pick-me-up, let's say - I'm all about the espresso drinks, preferably iced ones. Which, admittedly, I do miss while at WDW. But hey...I don't get Tonga Toast at home so I'm okay with the trade-off! ;)

No... I don't wish there was a Starbucks, but i DO wish there was a Tim Hortons.

What am I going to do for 9 days without my Timmy's?? :confused3

I still think that there should be a Timmies in Epcot Canada. :lmao:

Seriously, it is more Canadian than hockey!

:thumbsup2

Agree about Timmie Ho's! Every trip, as I pass the Canadian pavilion, I tell DH "they need a Tim's here. They'd make a fortune!" Cafe Mocha yummmmm.

And it is as much a part of Canada as the foods they have in other countries. We need an online petition! ;) :rotfl:

NO... do not wish there was a Starbucks at Disney (other than the one already there at the dolphin). I love coffee...I have found my special favorite organic bean.... Starbucks is okay... but it's not all that.. and absolutely not worth the price. Most of the sugar filled frapps and lattes are horrible for you... and the regular brews taste burnt. Why would I pay 4.00 for a coffee made by some hippie teenagers... I can get my hippie teen son to make mine at home for free :rotfl2: It will do in a rush... but it's the low man on the totem pole for coffee (IMO). ;) Maybe they should offer a nice french press brew... In fact... I bring my own french press to disney. Yum.

I see these comments about price all the time. Only the fancy coffees and teas are $4 and up. Regular coffee and tea is only a little over a dollar.

If the existing carts and locations brewed Starbucks coffee or any other proper coffee house instead of the current swill I would love it. That takes care of the people who don't want a full-on Starbucks ruining the magic. It doesn't really matter if the grounds they put in the coffee pot are from Starbucks, does it?

I just drink black coffee or espresso so don't care about all the other drinks.

They recently replaced many of the Dunkin Donuts in NYC with Tim Horton's -- and to be honest, I didn't notice a huge difference. It seems to me that Tim Horton's is maybe a little darker.

I like good coffee. So I don't go to Starbucks.

Now, I totally relate to that comment. I find Starbucks coffee to be an insipid brew that tastes of very little. If I want good coffee in Orlando I have a press pot at Kona or visit Starring Rolls or Writer's Stop. Long may Starbucks stay away from WDW!

Awww... this shouldn't be about whether or not you think Starbucks is the best coffee around, I think the intent is just to question whether there are those that wish they had one handy while in WDW.

While I personally don't frequent Starbucks, I know that there are a great many who couldn't get through their day without it. We become creatures of habit.

I love my Timmy's, but I know a lot of people who would rather drink sewer water.

Likewise, I adore the coffee that comes right out of the tap at the beverage bar in the POFQ. Again, the coffee snobs may turn up their little caffeinated noses at that, but it's a matter of personal taste and thank goodness we're not all exactly alike, that would make for a pretty boring existence.

I have favorite places to get my espresso coffee drinks at the parks. My resort (POR and POFQ) also makes espresso drinks.
At MK, I only know of the Main St. Bakery having espresso drinks.
At Epcot, between Innoventions East and Ellen's Energy Adventure, is a nice coffee cart. Morocco has nice coffee in the World Showcase.
At AK, right outside the entrance is a coffee place. The lady there has a real talent for making a great espresso drink. Inside AK, Royal Anandapur Tea Co. is great, and also fine tea drinks.
At HS, my favorite is Writer's Stop. Also, Starring Rolls and down by the exit of ToT.

I don't think Timmy's translates well. I was thrilled to find one in Ohio on one of my trips and was greatly disappointed in how un-Timmy like the coffee tasted (not to mention the donuts). Maybe it has something to do with the water or just the way the staff make it, who knows, but it sure didn't remind me of any of the Tim Horton's I've been to in Canada.

OMG my life would be significantly improved at WDW if I could get my venti nonfat caramel mocchiatos or iced raspberry lattes :worship:. However after years and years and years of wishing they'd get rid of Nescafe disgusting excuse for coffee at Disney I don't see it happening anytime soon since they are a major sponser at Disney.
I have over the years found places I can get some decent coffee but they are far and few between and I need LOTS of coffee during the day when I'm at Disney to keep going. I love most of the coffee at AK as they have lots of places to get real coffee. Most sit downs have good coffee. I love the writer's stop at HS, Ghiradelli's in DTD makes a good Caramel Latte as well as other types of coffee, there is the cart in Future World in EPCOT over by I think Mission Space that serves a real cup of coffee and then there is my favorite new find that I got too many times to count last year- Cosmic Ray's at MK has an iced capp that is really yummy. I used a lot of snack credits for them last year and I think I was able to get one as my drink when I ordered my QS meal and it was my drink (or maybe they let me get it as a dessert). Anyway if you want a nice cold iced cappacino I recommend trying them.

I've stopped at that cart several times and have been happy with my drinks. I also had a decent nonfat vanilla latte from a cart between the UK and Canada in the World Showcase. Tanigerine Cafe has good espresso drinks, but the one l really liked had alcohol in it, so I had to pass this past trip. But so far the best I have had has been at the coffee stand at the Poly. It was a good morning sitting on the monorail latte in hand getting ready to go into the Magic Kingdom.

Yes, only because it would encourage my sister to go to WDW with me more than once a year  She loves her iced tall chais.

It's so funny that people either love it or loathe it. There is always those extremely rude comments about SBX coffee. So funny.

Funny, as we speak it's 8:34pm and I am drinking Verona. Bold and tasty..yum yum. Love that coffee taste. Which is why I drink SBX, their bold coffees. However, they do sell drinks other than just coffee.

Iced Green Tea Lattes. No one else makes those and they are the yummiest.

Also it's something about their espresso. It's just better than most other places.

This is not my opinion. It's just what I prefer.

Again a good cup of coffee also depends on the water. The water in central Florida is terrible. No matter what the brand unless you have decent water the brand on the coffee won't matter. By the way Tim Horton's maybe from Canada..but they roast there beans in the U.S.A. in Rochester N.Y.:cool1:

This is true about the water. I can not use our tap water because of all the rust in it and I live in Michigan.

Lack of easy access to good coffee throughout WDW (exceptions noted elsewhere in the thread) is one of my pet peeves about WDW.

And as someone noted, the pizza in general is really sub par too. :-(
