Anybody else own any other with any other Time Share Companies they like?!

I really like to travel to various places around the country and world. I usally cant go for more than 3-4 nights at a time. I'm thinking about DVC, but I'm not sure if thats great for me since I love going to new places. I would only want a studio, and a good company that charges low or no fees for changing. Any ideas? I also want something that will hold its value. I was looking at wyndham since they have their own places in a lot of places, and I like Points. Any ideas for a good place that has a lot of locations around the country/world with points and low change fees and hold value. I think I'm asking for a lot!!!! thanks soooo much!!!!!!

Last year we stayed at a Wyndham for 2 days as a thank you from our neighbors.... we attended the Wyndham song and dance as a thank you to our hosts.. Much to our distaste... The Windham folks were really, really pushy and our hosts didn't get any credit since they did not already register us as their guests.... We really hated the Wynham sales pressure.

We have been to Vero Beach, Hilton Head Island, WDW (many resorts), Grove Park Inn, NC., Tanque Verde Ranch, Tucson, AZ, and on the Wonder. We bought about 3 years after viewing DVC.... never any pressure... I really appreciate the no pressure....

Bottom line.... Listen to your gut... why is DVC sooo casual and patient... because they have the best property, and by far the best program.

Where are you located? I'm guessing you'll want suggestions "close to home" if you are planning for short getaways (3-4 nights)??

I own with Wyndham as well. These contracts do NOT hold their value in the slightest, probably a 70% depreciation if you buy from the developer. But if you buy a package resale it will hold its value no problem. You can easily pick up contracts resale for CHEAP. Equivalent points for a 2 bedroom high season will be about three to four thousand dollars. Their system is incredibly complicated. This can be to your advantage if you take the time to learn all the rules. You can really get great value because most members don't know all the ins and outs. You have to be organized because some of the desirable locations book up quickly, but if you plan ahead you can make out really great. You also have to be careful to avoid their sales staff, who lie shamelessly. There is a really great userboard on yahoo if you are interested. There is a lot of flexibility in the points system. There are not a ton of studios in there system, but with the low cost of the contracts you may find you enjoy the 1 bedroom units. There are SOME studios. If you will get annoyed at inconsistent customer service, $25 transaction fees once you've used up your yearly transactions, and don't want to spend time avoiding sales people it is not for you. If you want great value, multiple locations and have the time to invest in working the system it may be for you. You can also stretch your points by depositing small studio increments in RCI and pick up bulk deposits. The tiny deposits are not strong enough to pick up highly desirable locations. When Wyndham is good it is very very good. When it is bad it is very very bad.

If you plan to go to lots of different places, I suggest a mini points system---all the hotels have them--starwood, hyatt, marriott, hilton. Read TUG, they have lots of info. STRONGLY consider buying resale--they sell at significant discounts--but find out what perks (if any) you give up by not buying from the developer.
Also, many of us have become VERY disenchanted with trading thru RCI or II---which is why I suggest a hotel points system, which all have nice villas, and you can also still trade thru II or RCI, but are not stuck with that--good luck.
