Anybody else notice...

Its not just on the forums. I've noticed that this behavior extended to the parks /resorts as well. I'm on my last day of a 14 night stay and in each park I've run into pushy people who cut lines and are just rude in general.

At the Fort I have the exact opposite experiance. People on the fort buses and boats are always willing to give up their seat for somebody who may need it more. Fort Wilderness is the only place that I have seen people hold doors for other people.

Stay classy campers!

Entitlement comes with wealth sometimes. Not to say campers aren't wealthy. Wealthy campers still have different priorities than those with a sense of entitlement.

I know it's great here in Chattanooga tonight camping. The weather is prime and folks are sitting out by the fire. Halloween decorations everywhere. Camping soothes the soul.

Some people do the right thing because it's the right thing to do. To say they do it simply out of fear of consequences is not fair.

This is the only forum I regularily read on all of DIS. I was a forum addict for a long time. Many camping, racing and diesel truck forums. The overall abuse on all of DIS is still pretty low compared to other places on the internets. I chalk that up to Disney and pixey dust. (Or maybe I'm delusional )

I was here through the "history" that someone mentioned. I think the few of us that remember that far back have forgotten and moved on.

This place stays pleasant because we all set that expectation and sort of self police the place. We did that on a race forum and were able to have civil discussions despite "my driver is better than your drive attitudes".

It's called respect, we "campers" respect each other because we have a common bond. We understand that our opinions are just that "OUR OPINIONS". Others are entitled to theirs and just because we might not agree we can still respect those opinions.

And RVMH, you saw right through me in the other thread. You could tell there are a few topics that get me going - my hat is off to you. I need to get back to my happy place. That a thread posted on the camping thread seems to remain more stable and down to Earth than other threads. For instance, somebody posted under the camping thread about the new Disney dinner reservation policy. Over here the responses were opinionated, but non-violent. The same thread over in the theme parks thread has turned into a near blood letting.
Maybe it's just that there are fewer of us over here, but my gosh they get personal.
