Anybody else not going again until 2010?

We're 2010's too!

Looking at the minute for early May '10 before schools let out for half term. Going back to ASSp as myself and DBF enjoyed it there last April. This time we'll have my Dad (who's been longing to go back since 1998!), my Mum and my Brother...who won't know what's hit him this time, as he was only 11 last time we went :lmao:

Counting down the days already as you can see  We're in saving mode now, as from pay-day this month, the payments to the 'Florida Fund' will be increasing LOTS!!

I WILL take my Daddy back to his happy place - which he also shares with me!

So 2010 people who are in full planning mode in order to try to get excited! Where are you all planning to stay and what other plans are you thinking of making?

We have had our villa booked since early 2008. :rotfl: We have rough dates in mind and the next thing will be our airfares. One exciting aspect to this trip is that we hope to meet up with an American friend we made in 2007 through the Focker Crocker exchange. I was talking to her this evening and once our airfare is booked she will see what plans she can make. :goodvibes

Edit to add - we regularly talk about all the places we want to eat in, lol!

After our 1st trip in May I find that I'm really pining to go back to Orlando

This August however we're going to Cuba for DH's brother's wedding. As much as I try to get excited, the thought of lazing about on a beach for a fortnight in 90% humidity, being eaten alive by mossies is sort of putting a dampner on it for me. It was too humid in Florida in May and August is going to be far worse.

So while I should be on Tripadvisor contributing to the Cuba forums, I find myself wistfully reading the threads on here and the Dibb. I've spoken to DH about it (he doesn't share my views on Cuba) and we've agreed to back to Florida next year This will give me something to really look forward to.
The only problem will be deciding when to go as it will have to fall within uni holidays. Being as we don't like it too hot or crowded, it will have to be looked at carefully.

I'm planning a WDW wedding for Dec 2010 at the moment, followed by a 4 night Disney cruise this may slip to 2011 though depending on budgets!

I know the feeling guys :grouphug: Our first trip to WDW has been years in the planning.
Never thought that I would be able to say "we're going to WDW this year" :goodvibes

Reid, how cool!! I am so happy for you!!!!

So where are you staying?

Sadly I have neither DLRP, DL or WDW planned for this year. Oh well!!

All us 2010ers will be living vicariously through you - don't let us down! ;)

I'm glad i'm not the only one feeling the Disney blues although i'm jealous for those of you going in 2010, we haven't got plans to go back in a while sadly.

We're saving for a deposit on a house so no big trips until that happens - maybe 2011 if we're lucky, 2010 only if the banks decide next year to start lending to us poor hard working Disney addicted plebs again :rotfl2:

We have been several times but only once in concecutive years, we had a two year gap 96-98 a 4 year gap 98-02 and another 4 year gap 03-07 I would be very surprised if we made it back this year as DS17 will be starting Uni in September, my guess would be 2011 when I am 50!

We plan to go back in July 2010 to OKW (our home). Our last visit was April 2008 and we tend to go every other year so that we can experience other places.

I'm also counting down to 2010! We're planning to go to Universal for Harry Potter and will probably stay at the Portofino.

Having said that my parents are going this November and have asked if I'd like to go too.......... Might have to do the sums :teacher:

Well we didn't plan on going back until 2010, but as we had to cancel our December trip due to me being ill we are now going back 4 weeks on Thursday :)

Claire ;)

We are hoping to go ''home'' in 2010 too :)
proberbly August!
my dream hotels (that may be within reach!!) at the moment would be 10 nts at the Dolphin & 5 at Universals RPR (we did RPR last yr & loved it - even though Fay came along & rained the whole time so it would be nivce to go back & see it in the sun!!)
BUT we could do cheaper hotels & go for longer???
what da ya think??

My other dilema is whether to book early (usually do preview brochure) or wait & se if any more deals come along - if i book early & a deal comes along would i be aloud to change??
I like to book early as it gives us something to look forward to & motivates me to save harder!!!

Tricky questions Tracy, I suppose it depends on whether your satisfied with 2weeks, if so I'd go for the luxury. The Royal Pacific is also great for FOTL.
If you were to go for 3 weeks but downgrade the hotels you may be left feeling a bit gutted. Why not compromise and stay at RPR to get FOTL and stay at a different moderate for the rest of your stay.

As for booking early I always have the same problem when booking holidays myself. I think 'let's hang on for a bargain' but as you say it's nice to have something to look forward to and save for :confused3

We weren't going last year, but still ended up there as it was the easiest option for us.
DH is all Disney'ed out, but I'm seriously tempted with the offers there are at the moment...
So it's not in the planning for this year but I wouldn't be all that surprised if I did get back to WDW this year (I might have a business trip to the US, so that would then be a no brainer...)
