Anybody else just not into Valentine's Day?

I don't mind Valentines Day. I remember as a little girl my dad would get me a little bouquet of flowers when he got my mom her flowers so I felt special :)

My youngest son was born on Valentines Day and he's the best present I could have :lovestruc. So we always celebrate his birthday on V-day, friday I have a hot date with 4 handsome guys at Chuck E Cheese :dance3:. I also get all 3 boys a little box of candy or something to celebrate the day too. My dh and I will go out to dinner or do something special a week or two later. It's kind of nice to be able to do something together since life does get busy and sometimes we get put on the back burner with work and kids.

I'm not into it. In fact, the other day I told dh not to bother getting me anything.

But, I will buy some candy on sale the day after Valentine's Day.

Not even a little. I feel this way about all the Hallmark holidays (Mother's Day, Father's Day.) We will go out to dinner but we don't do gifts or wear red or anything like that.

DH and don't celebrate valentines at all, in fact DH won't even be home bc he and a couple friends are going to to work on a friends new house. It makes no difference to me. We just don't see the point of designated days to celebrate each other; I love him 365.....give or take lol. I find it much more romantic to receive a gift or other token of his love on any old Tuesday, than to get a cliche card and box of chocolates. We generally don't exchange gifts either, on birthdays, Christmas, or anniversaries.

I like the imagery and I like decorating my house. I enjoy any holiday that gives me an excuse to decorate and cook/bake special holiday themed treats. :thumbsup2

Hallmark didn't create Valentine's Day. They do of course take advantage of it though. If you google the history you discover that it actually has ancient roots.

I don't mind the day even though I don't celebrate it. To me it's no worse than celebrating someone's birthday.

I'm not really into it. I mean, I enjoy buying gifts for people I love, so I do. And, I like crafts, so I may make a Valentine's wreath or something, but other than that, not so much.

Meh. I neither like it nor hate it. It's just another day...

I guess I kind of think of it as sort of a holiday that I find fun to do with kids, but without kids I don't bother. Kind of like Halloween.

I teach and Valentine's Day at school is my favorite day of the school year. At home, DH and I don't really celebrate. I might make DH's favorite dessert or something like that, but it's not a thing for us.

I love all kinds of holidays. I don't decorate or send cards anymore, but I love any day that can put a smile on my face. I'm not sending cards, or giving anyone a gift, but I'll celebrate a little. And then on Saturday, I'll see if I can find any chocolate for half price. :thumbsup2

I love Valentine's Day!!! I teach kindergarten, so we've been doing crafts and making cards for one another. It's exciting!!

Personally, I don't buy gifts for anyone. But I see it as a day to be extra kind, smile a little more and think about the possibilities of romance.

For all you single people out there, it's the idea that your special someone could be just around the corner. Dress to impress tomorrow because you just never know........

I am not a Valentine's Day fan. I was never wild about it growing up, and then I worked in a card store during High School...Valentine's Day made me want to gouge my eyes out. So much red, pink & hearts. Gag.

I'm married. My husband and I are not particularly romantic anyway. Tomorrow I'm hosting our single friends (all male, not trying to set people up) and banning any talk of Valentines and hearts. The past two years we've done our taxes :lmao:

I was pretty much turned off Valentine's Day the year(s) I worked for my cousin's florist. :rotfl2: Pretty much the busiest day of the year - several 14 hr/days cleaning roses gets old. ;)

DH & I ignore it, but as my brother & BIL were born on Valentine's Day, I'm reminded to get those birthday cards out.

I don't get Valentine's Day at all. I actually feel bad for female co-workers who only get flowers or candy today because the DH feels pressured to do so. It shouldn't be like that.

In my house, EVERY DAY is Valentine's Day. We don't need it... even after 26 years :) I get flowers at odd times for no reason. It annoys some of my friends, but hey... they should have found a fella like mine.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I love presents for no reason, well except the fact that he really does love me.

Meh. I neither like it nor hate it. It's just another day...

I feel the same way. As a kid I always bought valentines for friends but as I got older I realized that I didn't get it. I have always felt like I love the people that I love every day, why wait until Feb 14 to show it. My Dad always did his best to make it special for both me and mom so I appreciated that and cherished it. But I still didn't associate it with just valentines day. Now that I am married and I love DH dearly I feel as though we show each other love and appreciation all year round. We don't exchange gifts for any holiday, we truly spoil each other year round. We tend to surprise each other with gifts when ever the urge hits.
