Everyone thinks it's a wussy workout but it's really not. After that night my DH wishes they had one for men.

On top of that, how can you get a real workout in 30 minutes?
That's funny. My primary care physican - a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School - goes to Curves. We talk about it all the time and she loves it as well. She obviously believes it's a good program and convenient to her schedule.aprilgail2 said:When I talked to my Dr about losing weight and exercise and I mentioned curves he said don't bother.

You can if you're overweight and not doing any other exercise. By simply moving for 30 minutes at least 3x a week, you're going to lose weight and be healthier. But, it is not a good workout for people who just want to maintain weight and tone. You need cardio (and more than 30 second spurts). That's why I recommend it for overweight and older women only.Pixie_Dust said:On top of that, how can you get a real workout in 30 minutes?
Right, but with traditional weights you can add weight and push yourself more which is what you need to build muscle mass. You can't really do that at Curves. It is a good low-intensity workout. I'm not trying to argue about this. Just trying to let the OP (and others) know that it's not a good workout for everyone, as Curves advertises.caitycaity said:i actually do belong to a traditional gym as well to get in more cardio, but my traditional gym's circuit is basically the same as curves circuit for weight training.

You are right, I wouldn't want to support someone who was funding terrorists, but donating money to pro life organizations is not dangerous. I wouldn't care what his lifestle, religious beliefs, political party, etc. was either.

And, the human beings(loose term) who bomb women's clinics-like the bombing at the end of my street-are dangerous, yeah. And....someone is funding those people and their organizations and web sites declaring "open season" on doctors working in those clinics. Those people ARE terrorists and yes, pro life funds are going to them so they can continue their "work." Better safe than sorry. Just my opinion, take what you need and leave the rest.![]()

shortbun said:You DO realize that "personal money"-whatever that means-comes from one's business, don't you? How do you distinguish between someone's "personal money" and the money they earn from their business? Just curious? Do we think people have some private source of funds other than what they do/own for a living?
I just don't think so. I don't care what they do with their money.shortbun said:Uh, the folks who bring huge signs with pictures of aborted fetuses to family activities like playgrounds and community centers are dangerous-yeah.
