Is there any word whatsoever on approval for sale in NY State for a BCV Add-On?

I am heading down next month but I would like to buy from home if possible and especially at lower prices....

Any word?

As of yesterday 06/12 when i called MS no approval yet and no idea on how soon.

It has been a few days since this has been mentioned so I thought I would move it up the Boards.

Anyone hear anything about New York in the last few days?

The only thing that I heard is that the lower price and the $5 incentive will be offered to NY members when approval does go through. I don't know though whether that applies to people that are not yet DVC members.

A good friend is trying to buy in as a first timer and was told $75.00 rate only. The lower price and the incentive is only for members and for 2 weeks after the NYS approval . The approval has to come before July 1st if not it will not be offered.

I don't know-- though I did get a message from my guide. I was toying in with buying in when the incentives made the price an amazing $70 per point, but I don't think I am as interested at $80 per point. My husband took a call from guide who started talking his head off about upating him on NY progress. He was totally lost since we hadn't discussed dvc in months.

This is at least one New Yorker who has decided to put off a dvc purchase because of all this. On one hand, I blame my state office for dragging their feet; but it would be nice if we weren't penalized.

are you a member or were you just thinking of adding BCV on to what you already have?? I can NOT believe I finally decide to join and I'm all ready and NY'ers can only do it in person at WDW!

No add-ons, I would be buying in as a new member.

I'm taking the whole thing as a sign that it isn't the right time for dvc. I think I'll wait until I can pay cash for a resale.

George, my guide said it would be offered no matter when the approval went through. I had heard about the 30 days and asked her about that. She said it didn't matter when the approval was received we would get the lower price.

I was also told by my guide we would have two weeks only from time of approval and it would have to happen before July 1st. I don't know if things have changed again. I was not taking any chances so since my DS and DBIL went down for a few days (there now), I gave my bil POA and I will know in a few hours if I am the owner of an add-on at BC. This has been on the works for a while though, POA, faxed down, approved, set up appt., etc. Let's see

This is really getting annoying...

I would be buying an Add-On at BCV and and am really hoping we are not penalized for living where we do. I know that NY State governement approvals are taking a long time since 9/11. For a project I am working on with the State, it has taken about 6 to 8 months to pass something through a legal review process as opposed to it used to be 4 to 6 months.

$80 per point....I don't think that is in my budget at this point. Thus, my disappointment...

If the approval is taking longer than usual due to 9/11 I don't understand it even more than I didn't understand it before! (HUH?? ) If NY state is #1 in DVC membership you would think it would be a piece of cake -- hopefully ripleysmom is correct and no matter when the approval goes through we can purchase at the lower rate -- that's only fair!!

Spoke to my guide this morning. NO approval, no news and nothing new with getting it.

My guide also told me that we would get the incentives for two weeks after the approval goes through, whenever it goes through. I am going down at the end of July and am hoping to add on for 75 a point at that time.

I don't know if anyone can answer this but is the incentive good for add-on's only and new members like me will have to pay the $80.00 per point??

Hang in there NY'ers. Great to hear that you'll have the 2 week opportunity for the incentives. Sounds like a great idea to this non-NYer.

I called my guide today also. I asked what happens if there is no approval by the end of the month....basically we're out of luck as first time buyers as far as the current incentives. He said that there hasn't been any decision as far as extending the current price to NY'ers past 7/1. I guess we'll all keep our fingers crossed!

My guide said that the special incentive privilege for NYers would be only for current members adding on, not new members.
