2025 Summer Virtual Series

I logged on with one device and figured whatever happens, happens. Got into the challenge easily. I'm a sucker for a cool medal. I really wish they would do a ride theme for an in person weekend.

I haven't done a virtual series in quite some time, when do they generally start sending medals after registration?
I was hoping to have them in hand when I complete the runs. Is that possible or do they send after the 8/31 race date?

they don't send anything out until at least mid-July usually. When I started doing them in 2021 or 2022 , it was laaate August or September but IIRC it was a bit sooner last year.

I'm not a virtual race girlie but I am a Jungle Cruise girlie. I didn't pay attention to when registration was, so at 10:29 yesterday my friend texted and asked if I was going to sign up for the Jungle Cruise race. I said sure and logged on and had a 17 minute wait, it jumped up to 24 minutes at 10:33, then at 10:41 I had less than a minute wait and had gotten the race for the both of us shortly after that. By the time I got in, Pirates was sold out.

Maybe the ears are the "Keepsake"? So for $2 more you get an additional medal and maybe ears? And cool medals?

Even my massively Disney-cynical self is sorely tempted.....

I have an echelon stride and do their membership program thing. Got an email yesterday that I got a free entry into the challenge, assuming their limited quantity was still available. I thought for sure I missed my chance, but was able to sign up!

Has anyone received any info on the virtual series? This is my first year doing it. I think it starts soon, but wasn't sure what communication they send out. My co-worker who is also doing it, was also asking about it.

I'm not participating this year, but as I recall you run one 5K in each month of June, July, and August. As I recall, starting June 1 you should be able to log in to your runDisney account and download your kit (bibs, mile markers, etc.). Once you run it you should also be able to enter your June 5K date and time, and you can print out a finisher certificate. Have fun!

I am so disappointed to hear this! My daughter and I are going to WDW the last week of July and had planned to do our final 5K around Hourglass Lake and wear our challenge medals to the park that day. What a bummer. I really thought they would send them so that you could put one on as you complete each race. I think they should be a whole lot clearer about that in the race information. What is the point of getting them later? When I run a race, I want the medal at the finish line. I wouldn't have done this knowing that was the case. Shoot. I was really looking forward to that.

The "Medals" section of the event says that the medals will be shipped at the conclusion of the event timeframe. That event timeframe runs until August 31. They've been known to start shipping earlier than that, though, so there may be a chance that you receive them early.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. And from now on I'll be sure to read all the very fine print! I wonder of other people also assumed the medals would be sent ahead so that you could award it to yourself as you complete each race. That seems like it would be a lot more fun.
