I wish it was still around. I used to go to the DB occasionally, although I was going less and less because it was getting pretty nasty. But still, the CB has changed dramatically.

Me thinks you exaggerate just a wee bit.

Actually, I'd prefer the DB to come back because of the exact opposite reason. I have a hard time finding the debates because they are 3 or 4 pages back in only a few hours.

Yes, like this thread here- took me pages and pages to find it again. This is such a waste of time and energy! Guess I'm venting..... The great thing about the Debate Board was that the posts stayed on the front page for several days and interesting comments were made over and over again with educational substance.

Just saying good bye for now to all of you..... I'll check in from time to time, but I must find an easier board to communicate on for the time being. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and is able to conform easier than I...

I miss the debate board because I don't think there are enough debates here. Hopefully that will change though. I have enjoyed reading the various other threads here too and even if we'd get the debate board back, I think I'd visit this board as well.

This is kind of funny, but I never came to this board because I always heard such bad things about it on the other boards. When I say other boards, I'm not talking about the DB!

I wish the DB was back because combining all of these threads has caused the CB to seem really disorganized, IMO. Everything...fluff, prayer request threads, informative threads, debates...they all are being buried too quickly...

It didn't cause the CB to become disorganized, it was already that way.

I'm glad the debate board is gone. True, it's a little harder to keep up on the CB, but the debates here, at least so far, seem to have more factual content and less of the garbage that caused a lot of people not to participate there.

And yes, I think the playing field is a bit more level here simply because others besides the extremes on both ends are participating.

I don't think that is a dig at the right or the left. The debate board had become, for the most part, a collection of extremist views on both ends of the spectrum. It was a rare thread that didn't have someone making outrageous, insulting comments. That seems to have slowed down since the move to the CB.

Actually, it means exactly what it says. There are more people from different backgrounds expressing their viewpoints. I think that is good. Some people are getting very paranoid.

Now people are mixing it up more on the CB. There is more interaction, more opinions, more different points of view. I like it!

I really hate the huge changes in the CB right now. But then, maybe I'll end up liking it after I get used to it, who knows? If not I'll move on and find some place I like better. Either way it's not something I'll stress over.

I don't understand "huge changes".

The DB on it's own had 1/10 the activity of the CB. I'm on here everyday, several times a day and I can probably say with accuracy that the amount of "DB" type threads started by regular DBers has fallen off dramatically. In addition, a fair amount of the DB regulars are not posting in those threads.

I'm hard pressed to see the "huge changes" that you speak of.
