Any Wii's out there??????

My WM said no more until the new year, but that doesn't mean other WM's might not get them.

:sad2:

I guess my best bet is Target on Sunday.

So what is everyone's gut in how early to get there on Sunday?

I'm planning on going to Target.

The guy at Gamestop told me, that most people tell him they are camping out at best buy and Walmart.. so, I'm going with the fewer people. :) Target told me that they were getting some for the 17th.

I was thinking 3 or 4 am. It's a town of about 50,000... college town. What's everyone's gut tell them?

As soon as DS(10) goes to sleep, I'll leave to go stand/sit in line at Target - probably around midnight on Saturday - I can't chance it since this is the only thing that DS(10) has talked about ALL YEAR LONG.

Midnight, wow.

My seven year old wants two things.. a Nintendo Wii, and a hula hoop. At least he'll get the hula hoop.

I too, think this is probably the last chance I'll get. Too bad I don't have anyone around me, also as desperate (that I know, and like) .. we could keep each other company.

Of course, if there is noone there at midnight I won't stay - I'll just keep going back and forth until I see at least one person waiting - luckily for me Super Target is across the highway from where I live.

I live 18 miles from our target.. so, I need to pick a time, and suck it up.

Any of you that are camping out in a place where it's cold? I live in Minnesota, so the thought of camping out gives me the chills LOL. Yuck!

I would buy remotes from Amazon, but I'm afraid I'd get stuck with remotes but no system.

Well, I still have no system, but I must have hope! I ordered a remote from amazon. Anyone know if there are any classic ones out there??

I talked to DD yesterday, My DSiL bought the Wii system * we played it last week and it ROCKS :thumbsup2 But he ended up finding another one that he is planning to sell, probably on EBay. If anyone is interested PM me and I'll see if he has it online yet. We are in Wisconsin. I believe he has at least one extra controller with the wrist strap.

Actually, although it went against my grain, I ended up buying a classic controller on eBay, only because I got it for a dollar more than retail, and the shipping was fast and cheap. If you watch the auctions, you might get a deal on one like I did. The regular remotes and nunchuks are way too overpriced for me to consider buying off of eBay, but the classic controllers aren't so bad.

Thanks for the heads up on the wii remotes at Amazon. I just placed our order. :thumbsup2 Our package came with two remotes, but one is broken... So we are very excited to try the two-player games. When Nintendo sends us the replacement remote then we'll have three. Apparently we're waiting for some other game to come out that includes a wiimote and then we'll have four.

I hope all of you still looking can get them this weekend. Here's a little bit of pixie dust pixiedust:

We lucked out and got one when circuitcity.com had them last week. It arrived Saturday. It's fabulous!

what is the new game that is coming out with a controller? And what games do you have.... I need to find some games and a system.

Thanks

Wendy

Ok, DS10 announced YESTERDAY that he wants a Wii. Normally I would say "yeah right" , but this is probably his last Christmas "believing" and he is just so sweet and unassuming about it. He said "what I really want is a Wii, but I know that probably won't happen" - So now I am a Mom in overdrive. I'm in. I'll be at Target Sat. night.

I need to be educated on what to get....so do any controllers come with the system? Do I have to buy them separate...does a game come with it? Can games from other systems be played on it?

TIA

One controller comes with the wii as does the sports game. The controllers are also hard to find, so if you're thinking you may want to do some two-player stuff (you will because you will want to play too!), you should get at least one more controller. I purchased one from Amazon just tonight.

The other Nintendo games (Game Cube) can be played on it, but you'll need your Game Cube controllers because the wii controllers don't work with the old games.

You're so lucky your 10 yr old stil believes. Mine doesn't and it breaks my heart. I think my 7 yr old is about to give up to - darn it! But I still have my 4 yr old, doubtless child. :)

Wiiplay has the remote. Fishing, pool, and a bunch of other strange games... (quote from DH). Release date - Jan 15th.

ETA- The only game we have is Wii Sports - the one that comes with the system. It's great! But I think Santa is bringing a couple of others.

We are new to Nintendo. We got DS lites when they came out in June (I originally bought two, DH went in the next day and bought two more - so there were enough for him and each of the kids!). We are now Nintendo fans.

Thanks for the info. I will try to get another controller since my other son will want to play.

That's what my ds did. Why he didn't tell me before launch date I have no idea. But, yep, sent me to mom overdrive. We resorted to ebay.

A Ninchuck and a remote come with the system. That is all you *need.* But some games require seperate controllers for more than one player.
