Any WDW restaurants you won't return to?

I won't say never, but not in a rush to get back to Grand Floridian Cafe'. I was all set to order the roasted chicken but our waiter suggested the prime rib and I fell for it. It was dry and not done enough for me. I didn't even eat half. And this was our last night there. Maybe I shouldn't have listened to him, and it would have turned out better??? I will never know. At least not any time soon. I will just need to find another place where I can get some Chocolate Fondue w/fruit. popcorn::

there are a few sub-par, but the absolutely no way in hades we're ever going back is rose & crown.
atmosphere was nice (we were outside ~ dinner), BUT:
~ could not move the chairs (even to let the waiters thru) cos people were so crammed in, literally touching shoulders/backs with other diners :scared1:
~ waited an hour to get the menu (we were already hungry at that point), another 1 1/2 hours to get our entrees (one of my nephews had already fallen sound asleep), & then 20 minutes later, they brought the appetizers :confused3
~ food was literally inedible ~ not just bad, it was disgusting (meat tasted rancid, everything else tasted like it was going/had gone bad :sad2: ). since we still couldn't find the waiter, we drank (soda, beer) whatever we had on the table already for dinner. dessert was average/good, prob tasted better to us cos it was the only food we ate. (everyone was still hungry, so we wound up getting pizza from spoodles take-out on the way "home").
we were at R&C FOUR hours .....it was absolutely the worst meal i've had in WDW or anywhere else. :scared:

BUT, Illuminations was wonderful, as always, tho :thumbsup2

San Angel, Turf Club, Coral Reef (except for dessert), Garden Grill (except for CP), Akershus (unless they boot the Princesses and if DD ever gets over her foid poisoning experience there...)

That would be 50's Prime Time! Man, that was just the worst food of them all Not sure what the root vegetable hash is, but I'm sure that's not something I'll be having again!!!

Hollywood & Vine......that was sooooo bad, yuck. The other is Whispering Cafe (is that what its called?????) I hated the service and atmosphere, why do I want the server yelling at me, no thanks, food wasn't very good either!

For us its Fulton's; Big River Grill & Brew Works; Tony's Town Square; Planet Hollywood, Rain Forest Cafe (either of them). Also, 'Ohana is off the list until they make some major adjustments to the menu (something more like the original version) and get some servers that are more considerate.
Do you mind me asking why you didn't like Rainforest? We have it on our list and have been really looking forward to it but you are the second person lately that has made that comment. I'm starting to re-think our decision.

For us, we won't be returning to 1900 Park Faire for either Breakfast or Dinner. We attended both during our most recent trip. For dinner, we were put over by the kitchen door. While I understand someone has to sit there, a table sat empty over in the cutout section there and we asked if we could have that instead, and the lady seating us said, "no, the seats are predesignated." Ok, the table sat empty the whole time we were there, we could have sat there and been gone before anyone came. We got bumped by more busboys than you can imagine, and one waiter almost spilled a drink on DD as he walked by very quickly and bumped DDs chair. Then we went to breakfast the lady at the desk gave us a beeper and said it would be at least 15 minutes, so ok, we went to the lobby to sit and wait, 30 minutes later the beeper still hadn't gone off, so we went to check on it. She said they had our table over 15 minutes ago, and had given it to someone else. Do What!!!!! The beeper never even went off, then she got on the walkie talkie thing and made it sound like it was our fault. No, I don't think so!!!! So, finally they seat us, and the waitress rushed us through the whole meal, I guess she wanted to get ready for the next seating and we were taking up a table she wanted. Well too bad, we took our sweet time. The food was ok, but the service was the pits!!! Never Again!!!!

I am not a picky eater and I always try to see a little bit of light in ever situation no matter how awful. However I was SO grossed out at Yakitori House. The chicken was cold, and covered in way to much soy sauce and whatever else they mix into their sauce and thhe Ginger cake was just plain NASTY. I ended up eating rice for lunch one day... needless to say that dinner was amazing and I honestly can't remember where I ate! :rotfl2:
Another place I won't eat is Akershus and its not because of the food. My family and I made Akershus a tradition every year because we loved the food. However when they turned it into a Princess Meal I was heartbroken. The only reason I can think of is that people were turned off by the menu so to keep it afloat they added the princess... Now if they ever get rid of the chicks Ill be back!
Last is The Rainforest Cafe. I feel their food is overpriced and I guess I like eating new stuff. Im from Northern Virginia and we had a RFC at our local mall for about 10 years and I like to try new things on vacation.

Tonys,as the food was poor and the service terrible. RFC as the last few times we have been we have had to wait ages for our meals which were then unedilble

:rotfl: While we absolutely loved 50's PT, I had to LOL at your comment! We did not try the root hash! Why? Because when I questioned what exactly it was, our server's entire response was "Gross!" followed quickly by "Substitute it for mashed potatoes!" :goodvibes That must be some nasty stuff!

Sure, I'll explain about RFC. Just keep in mind that these are my opinions and you'll find lots of people who will disagree.

First, I will give them credit for a novel concept.

But, in reality we've found that the food is just average, the cost is high (even for Disney) and the service is terrible. The long wait just to be seated is bad enough. Why do you have to wait in two different lines?

Then, once you are seated, it will take a while before your server greets you. At this point its not that bad because you are still taking in the surroundings. But, once you place your order don't expect to see your server (like for refills on your beverages) for a while. By the time your food comes the novelty of the surroundings is beginning to wear off. OK, so lets try the food - well, it could be hotter but its fairly tasty - nothing special. Now I'm thinking about desert; where is that waiter? By now the noise of the rain forest has really worn thin and a headache is rapidly approaching. Oh heck, I'm just going to get desert elsewhere, can I get the check? Sure, another 15 minutes goes by before you get the check. Paying by credit card? Add another 15 minutes to get the card swiped and you receipt.

No, this is not an isolated instance. We've encountered that in several trips. More times than I willing to admit I've been abused by.

Again, just our experience. Your mileage may vary.

We too are not picky eaters and eating is a big part of our experience while at Disney. We have found something enjoyable at almost everywhere we have eaten.
I will NEVER return to H & V. It was the worst meal I have ever had anywhere. The buffet was gross - the only good things were the bread, the salad and the desserts. We were surrounded by dirty, unbussed tables, the waitress was rude, it was load and noisy, and the Ladies Room was filthy!!!!Our only other never return to restaurant is the Yachtsman Steakhouse. After 2 tries we will not return. It is a beautiful setting, and the service was great. But we all agreed the food was just not good. Things were way over sauced and the beef was tough. It is expensive for poor food.

Don't rethink it. We love it! Like every other place some love it and some hate it. My family happens to love it! I do have to agree that even with the ADR we had for the one in Animal Kingdom we had to wait a long time to be seated. Part of me thinks it's a way to have you look around at the gift shop. We love the food! My favorite is the Island Chicken Salad. My dh likes the burgers. The kids the dino nuggets. It's really a fun place that is different. I say go!:)

dancemomnj brings up a good point. I have seen several posts on this thread where those posting are considering changing their ADRs (as happens with every thread like this). Remember that these posts are people's opinions only, and, as with everything in life, your mileage may vary because we are all very different. If you want to try something, don't be disuaded, try it and decide for yourself! That is the only way you can know if you will find it nasty, overpriced, poor in quality, etc.

Le Cellier for us. We value atmosphere at Disney, and this place has none for us. Just like other several other steakhouses we've been to. Food was good, but service was sub-par as well.

Do you mind me asking why you didn't like Rainforest? We have it on our list and have been really looking forward to it but you are the second person lately that has made that comment. I'm starting to re-think our decision.

RainForest is fine to do once, but it's pretty pricey and just not somewhere I feel the need to repeat. I actually think Planet Hollywood is better value and better food but sooooooo loud it's unbearable.

Mama Melrose just wasn't great food in my opinion, and the atmosphere was lacking. Did have a good cesaer salad but not enough to get me back.

Funny enough, we LOVE Tony's and it's one of our must-dos. We love sitting on the porch for the late afternoon parade. One of the few TS restaurants with outdoor seating. Love the flatbreads too.

I noticed Kona has a chocolate fondue with fruit. I'm highly tempted to get it but alas I think I may go for the much less healthy banana creme brulee!

Biergartan. I know people love it, but it just wasn't our thing. Loved the decor and the entertainment, but I really did not like the food (except for dessert - YUM). DH thought it was ok, but he said he doesn't have to go again either.

We went to the RFC in AK for breakfast in Nov (only because the Breakfastasaurus was closed) for my daughters birthday and we really enjoyed it. The service was a little slow but not too bad because it was not crowded. The food was very good and the portions were large. We probably won't go back because we enjoy the character breakfasts thought. Just love Donald and Daisy Duck:lovestruc

Ding...Ding...Ding...and the winner (loser!) is San Angel Inn !!! The food was bad, the service was bad, and it was so noisy that the ambience was completely ruined.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe for me. The food was at best mediocre. Overpriced and pretentious for no good reason.
Very well said!

I have eaten at RFC every single time I have been to WDW as an adult... the one in DTD and the one in DAK. I have eaten at many, many places in WDW more expensive than RFC. I think the food quality is fantastic and have always received perfect service there. I'm sorry you have had some bad experiences... but if you go at peak times during peak days/seasons, then you're always going to have that happen, no matter what restaurant you are at. :duck:

I have also been to the RFCs in Atlantic City, NJ and Towson, MD. I LOVE RFC. It's always fantastic. I encourage others to try it :)

So yeah, mine are Wolfgang Puck's and also Tony's Town Square. I find the food to be mediocre and overpriced for being mediocre. It's cute... but that's about it.

I'm sad for all the votes against San Angel Inn. I love it every time I go.
