Any way to tell if your hotel is full for when you will be there?

Does that make sense :scratchin

Wondering if it was possible to see online how full the hotel was going to be for our upcoming stay?

Go online and try to book a room for the dates in question. If you can, then it's not full.

hahaha well I figured that much! But didn't know if there was some sort of chart or something... sorry I don't know they have chart predictors forever thing it seems!

predictions for guests coming to WDW is not as great as you may think.

disney does a hotel phone call for all the local calls - if this number of guests is more than their estimates they will change the hours of the MK and Epcot.

the best way to see if your hotel is filled is doing what was suggested.

you don't have to complete the process - just do enough to see.

what resort and when are you staying?

kind of a simlar question---if you do a search for your hotel, and it comes up with no availability--what are the chances that they in fact, overbooked your hotel?

I was just curious how much other rooms (besides the type I am getting) would be--and when I tried to do a search, it came up with no availabilty.

So now, I am completely paranoid that my resort is overbooked and they are going to try and bump us to some other resort!!! Please tell me I am worrying about nothing?

FWIW, my resort is YC, which is a convention resort, right? Is it possible that they are not actually "booked" but maybe have just blocked off a certain number of rooms to accomodate possible convention people?

can do as OP said go online and check they over book just like any hotle does and then they go down the cancels and fill those rooms worked in hotels for years...have been 65 times and not seen a full resort yet as can tell by windows etc. and also they hold so many rooms for travel agents as well and of course may get cancels on that.

A convention resort will frequently hold back rooms from general availability for convention guests. So just because YOU can't find an available room doesn't mean that all of the rooms are necessarily full.

At a non-convention resort, if you can't find availability for a rack rate reservation, chances are the resort could be full. Or it could be that they just can't fit your reservation for the full period of your dates. For example, you may request a room from Sunday to Sat. But the resort is full on Friday. It would show no availability for your request, but the resort was not full for 6 of the 7 days. And then someone cancels at the last minute and it all changes again!

As for overbooking a resort- I have no idea what WDW policy is on that. I'm sure it happens all the time, but to what degree ????? I'm sure one of the Diser's with a hotel management background can answer that for you.

they definitely hold back for the conventions.

would not worry too much about the YC - it is pretty expensive - the ones that fill up first are generally the values.

sometimes on purpose - sometimes by mistake - too many agents making reservations at the same time.

travel agents use to get rooms - but not sure anymore - AAA did not have any a year so ago when I asked. they had to call DIsney or use the internet just like us.

Another thing that can give you a bit of a clue is if you try to book on-line and, while the resort may not be full, several room categories are unavailable.

This would suggest to me that the resort is pretty full.
