Any way for offsite guests to get Magic Bands early???

We are staying offsite in September and have 5 day hoppers from Orbitz linked to my MDE account. I'm wondering if there is any way to buy Magic Bands to use on our trip BEFORE we get to the parks?? Do they sell them in my local Disney Store??? Buying used ones on eBay is probably a bad idea, right?!?! I understand that IF it's possible to get them early, that we would probably have to wait until we get there to link/activate them. I just think it would be great to give them to the kids in our group when we reveal to them that we are actually going.

The only way you can get them early is to have an onsite reservation. They can only be purchased at the parks and DTD.
