Any Wait to use AAA?

Hi. Totally new to this, so I have a question. Once you join AAA do you have to wait any amount of time before using the discount? I am planning a trip for Oct 2006, and would like to use any discounts I can. Thanks!

As long as you have your number you can book right away. FYI: I just booked for Oct 06 and this was the first time I have ever been asked for the number when booking, usually I just need to show at check-in.

One other note, just in case you're looking for a "room-only" booking and not a full package....you can ask for the AAA room-only discount when you book your room with Disney, and then you won't need your actual number or AAA card until you check in.

You can get the AAA room discount with the Dining plan, but you would have to book the package through a AAA travel agent.

It was a room-only reservation thru disney that I made and was asked for my AAA number for the first time ever. I have heard of several people who also were asked by CRO very recently, so they may be starting to change policies

I think it is the luck of the draw that determines if you are asked for a AAA member number when you make the reservation or not. Some CM's ask, others don't. One thing I have found when staying at Disney or at any other hotel for that matter, no one has ever asked me for the card when I actually check in, even though I am always told that they will ask. I always bring it just in case, but it always stays in my wallet.

I have a question. We are getting ready to book a trip for early december 2006. We are AAA members and have gotten a discount on Disney rooms in the past but have always booked immediately following the release of the discounts. Do you think we will still be able to get a AAA discount for our trip? Do they stop giving them at some point or aren't they out yet for next december? Thank you.

Thanks Rootskate. Can you or anyone here give me the number of CRO? It's been awhile since we've booked a disney resort and I cannot locate the number. I think I remember something about them having an 800 number now? Do you have to ask for CRO or doesn't it matter anymore if you get WDW Travel? Can we still pay the balance at check in or is it different now? Sorry for all of the questions.

If you make a room only reservation, you need to pay a deposit equal to one nights stay. The rest is due when you check in. When you call you do not need to ask for CRO, just be sure to make it clear that you want a room only AAA reservation. Then whoever answers will be able to help. I believe this number 877-939-3732 should work for reservations.

Yep me too. I got 4 rooms at WL/woods view with a AAA discount. The CM said there is only one discounted room left for woods view so we got lucky. Thank you all for your help!!
