Any update on WL pool? (NOW OPEN)

Just called WL and spoke with CM. Was told pool is still "expected" and she stated "expected" twice date of completion is April 1st. I asked if we could use any other pools and she stated, yes the villa's pool and Contemporary pool. I asked if we could use Poly or GF pool and she stated, "no" only the Contemporary pool and villas pool. I asked if transportation is being provided and she stated as of now only the resort boat that all the other resort guest in that area use, no special boat for pool use only and no bus. So, when the boat stops running you have to ride monorail to TTC and take a bus to your resort from there, for those that like to take late night swims and I'm one of those

Hopefully, the pool will be open by April 1st if not before

wow thats to bad and Im really surprised as people said that there was a bus at one point over to the Poly. I know that that pool was also beng fixed recently as well. I agree with Canadianguy if you can get something else take it. Especially if you really wanna use the pool. I like the CR but their pool is so boring to me. I know that Disney did let TAs know about the pool closing as it was on DTA.com but also if you follow boards like allears and mouseplanet they always have it up to.

When I made our reservations, there was no mention about the pool because we arrive on Apirl 4 and the "expected completion date" is April 1, so reservations did not have to tell me nor did they, wish they had. By the time I read about this on this board the only room available was a suite at YC which is out of our budget. I kept calling in hopes of a standard room at Contemporary, GF and or Poly, to no avail. All I can do now is hope for the best and if we must then ride the boat to Contemporary which is not my fave pool Hopefully, the pool will be completed as scheduled Thanks!

that villa pool is VERY small
i stayed at the WL in sept 2004 and the reg was pool was packed so we went over there ( the lifeguard told us about it)
and there werent a ton of people over there but it felt crammed

I wouldnt be happy if I was to stay at a deluxe and the pool was closed
wdw should really train the agents better with this
the other day I booked the Poly and was told there was a hot tub there when I know there isnt!!!!

thats to bad I always tell clients that the pool is being worked on til XYZ and you arrive 1 week later. There could be delays with construction do you still wanna stay there?
I cant believe disney isnt willing to help you go somewhere else as this is their fault. You at least deserve some of brak on your room since the pool doesnt work. Did you call them and ask about that?

You're reaching a call center and not the front desk of the resort. This information you were given is inaccurate. That's an unfortunate side effect of the way Disney has set up their phone system. The people answering the phone for a given resort.. just plain don't know.

A DIS poster took this picture on March 01. Clearly it identifies a shuttle to the Contemporary in this signage.

That picture jives with what I saw when I visited the resort the same week as March 01.

Thanks for that info I thought I was calling WL direct, I didn't know it was a call center It seems a bit difficult to get a definate and accurate response from Disney on what to expect and plan for while the pool is under construction at WL. I like to have a schedule and be well informed before I plan our trips for the day. Thank goodness for these boards

There have been active rumors about that.. but from my visit in early March (just stopped by the resort) and the pics I saw posted.. I didn't see anything of the sort.

What I saw looked like a refurb in the interior walls and floor of the pool, redoing some of the decking and cleaning, fixing etc some of the 'fake rocks' around it as well as some 'tech' stuff to the piping, filtering etc.

I don't remember scaffolding on the main building - only work on the pool. Sorry I'd not seen this post a few days ago!

The sign was still out there for transportation, I took a photo but thought it'd be redundant to post since everyone has seen it here already!

I'm here at the Lodge now- don't know if it's been posted yet. The pool is filled- it will be open this Friday! It was filled with water yesterday and we asked a CM today- open on Friday....just an FYI!
