Any traditions you have at WDW?

I think it's funny how many things have become a tradition for us when we go to WDW. We always eat at the same Cracker Barrel on the way down there, Buzz Lightyear is always the first ride we ever go on, etc. But these aren't unusual or unique traditions. Does anyone else have traditions they do going to or at WDW? I would love to hear them!

We usually go to Bongo's in Downtown Disney on our first night there.
(Usually arrive in the evening after work and start the parks the next day).
We always take a picture in front of the Mickey's flowers in front of the Magic Kingdom.
That's all I have for now.

Space Mountain is always our first ride. We also go visit the rocking horse at the Grand Floridian.

We eat at Chef Mic's on our first night.

We eat at Bomas the night of the marathon.

We eat at Rose & Crown our last night of the trip.

We eat at Bomas for breakfast the day of our departure.

We like food. Can you tell??

We always eat soup at Canada in Epcot on the day we check in, and look around the resort. Then the next morning we make coffee in our room, and sit on our balcony and watch everyone else head over to the Parks bright and early! We always wait one day before we join the mob!

First day tradition: we always stop at the Welcome Center on I-75 at the Florida line, where I proceed to pick up hundreds of brochures (the same ones I pick up every year). When we check into our room, I like to sit, relax and read all my brochures and all the info from Disney we were given at check-in.

Another tradition of ours: we go to Trail's End every trip. It's become a tradition to get to FW about an hour before the restaurant opens so that we can sit in the rocking chairs with a drink, people watching. So relaxing!

MK is always our first park and Liberty Tree Tavern is always our first night dinner.

Our 1st dinner the past 10 trips have been dinner at Chef Mickey's. For the last few years we now have had our "last" breakfast at Chef Mickey's as well. For us it is a great way to say "hello" and then "goodbye" to our friends.

1) Stop for the last of the "cheap" gas before leaving GA.

2) Stop at the FL welcome center for the best cup of orange juice anywhere.

3) According to my children, it is a tradition for me to get up first and fling open the hotel room curtains to see what the weather is like.

4) Save the best park (MK) for last!

My Dad does this too! But he likes to do it at 6:30 a.m. and when it's extremely dark in the room and fling open the curtains to the groans of the rest of us trying to cover our eyes. He thinks it's hilarious. My brother always yells "They have a Weather Channel!!!!" but apparently he wants a first hand account and to bother everyone else.

For us, we don't necessarily do a particular thing FIRST. But we do have a lot of traditions for our trips.

We eat at a lot of the same restaurants each trip, but we do try to do at least a few new things.

We try to ride in the front of the monorail at least once during our stay. We try to do Chef Mickey's early in our stay to get us into the mood. This year we are trying 1900 Park Fare on our last day. We haven't done that in many years.

There are certain places I like to take the same pictures each year so we get perspectives of how the kids have grown.

I'm sure there are many more, it's just hard to think

On the way down we always stay in a motel in Lake Park, GA(and we also look forward to the "cheap" gas down there).

The next morning we HAVE to stop at the FL Welcome Center. I honestly miss the old one, since that's the one we always went to when I was a kid.
I DO love the orange and grapefruit juice there, but had my bubble burst last year when I saw an attendant pouring cartons of Florida's Natural into the big tanks. Shoot, I can buy that at home. I guess I thought there was some little mouse behind the scenes squeezing all this fruit


We always stop and have lunch at Sweet Tomatoes on our way into Orlando...then we shop at the Character Warehouse(which is no longer there, but has combined with Character Premiere it seems )...then it's off to check in at POR!


DH has to get a Cuban coffee from Bongo's and fudge from the candy shop on Main Street.

We HAVE to eat at the Biergarten.

We do Epcot on our last park night. I ALWAYS walk away crying after Illuminations.


I gotta think of some more...I'm still half asleep...

We always do Spaceship Earth first thing in Epcot.
We have to visit Club Cool and EVERYTIME we HAVE to drink Beverly. This time we actually tasted a hint of grapefruit beyond the taste of club soda and aspirin...

When I first arrive I usually tour my resort, then go to Epcot and enjoy the scenery there. My first night I normally go to DTD to shop/eat/people watch.

4. Run around the park looking for characters
5. Eat at Marakes
6. Eat at Le Chefs
7. Drag my G/f to epcot

Well, normally we stop at the gas station in Tifton with the catfish to use the bathroom on the way there and we eat at a Steak N' Shake on the way back. We get all excited about passing the Garden at Ty Ty and We Bare All (family entertainment !?!), and the 56(?) Chrome Shop on the way there.

Every trip it's a must to get a Cobb Salad at the Brown Derby for lunch. Another day it's lunch of field greens and Cheese Soup at LeCellier. It's all about the food!!

When we get to the resort, we have to get the CM who is still earning his ears to check us in, that way we get to change rooms a couple of times because the cards/keys never work. Then we head straight to the MK where our cards/tickets don't work (thank you Mr. Earning Your Ears), so we get temporary tickets and then finally enter the MK and get our picture taken in front of the castle. No kidding, this scenario has happened on our last three trips. Somehow it just wouldn't feel right if the key cards worked, there would be no sense of adventure.

On our last day, DS and I rush to BTMRR and see how many times we can ride it without having to get off. Our record is six times.
