Any tips on room requests before booking AKV or VB?

I'm planning on booking AKV and VB tomorrow and wanted to see if there was anything special I should request in order to try to get a "good" room at either place.

At AKV I plan to be booking Savannah View Studio. Is there any range of rooms that has a better view than others? I've been reading on here that I should try to avoid the Sunset Savannah. Any other tips to maximize our view?

At VB I'm going to be booking an Ocean View Inn Room. Any suggestions for that?

This will be our very first DVC booking so I wanted to make sure I knew of any tips or tricks before I call

No experience with AKL but we've stayed in 4 OVIRs at VB and have been pleased with all of them. A few of the OVIR's are located with an ocean view, but not actually ocean-front. We had one of those once and looked over the pool and you could see the ocean, but not exactly what I had in mind. All the others have been directly facing the ocean and we've loved them all. Our family is big enough that we usually stay in 2BR's at WDW, but at VB, we get connecting OVIRs every time, we just love being in the main building.
