Any tips on flying BOS-NO, LA?

I have never been to New Orleans before, and I am going in April
No one seems to fly direct from Boston to New Orleans...Any ideas on what airline would be the best? What city is best to connect in? I've got plenty of time still, but I'd just like an idea.

Since Southwest flies to two cities within an hour of Boston (Providence & Manchester, NH, keep an eye on their website, and sigjn up for that free newsletter announcing their airfare specials which goes out every Tuesday around 5 AM (EDT).

They do fly to New Orleans (they've really boosted their number of flights there since Katrina), but you'll have to stop and/or change planes somewhere along the line, with Baltimore, Nashville, Philly & possibly Chicago among the possibilities.

Insofar as the majors, there's Continental through Houston, Northworst through Detroit or Memphis, Delta through Atlanta or Cincinnati, USAirways through Charlotte, or United through Chicago or possibly Washington, DC.

Oh, thanks for the tip about Southwest!!! I never think of them because I usually only travel BOS-MCO, so I kind of forget SW exists....I shall check out their site...And then beg someone to drive me to NH on that day I want to leave..

Also don't forget Jet Blue. They fly out of Boston and frequently have good fares to NO.

Yup, I have checked JetBlue...They don't have April up yet, but I checked as far as I good just for an idea...The prices aren't bad, I was just trying to avoid connecting at JFK.
