Any tips for chaperones?

My daughters choir is heading to Disney in February and I volunteered to chaperone. I am a pretty militaristic planner! The kids are scheduled for a full day at EPCOT (with 90 minutes for their singing program) and a full day at MK. Our family never spends a full day at the park (we always come back in the afternoon to swim and shower and go back in the evening) but it'll be easier to be outside all day in Feb vs our usual trips in Sept! I have no idea if anyone plans fast passes for the kids. I am guessing they probably do not and wonder if it would be weird to ask for the ticket info for the kids I am chaperoning so I can get FPs for us. I am not exactly sure how I'd do this other than adding all of them to my existing reservation?? I don't want to be "that mom" but I also don't want to wait in line for 120 minutes for 7DMT.

Has anyone else chaperoned a trip, or had a child go who can give me some advice on the best way to maximize our park time?

TIA!

@subtchr oversees group trips to WDW and always has helpful tips. Hopefully she’ll stop by to explain how she goes about setting up the tickets and FP booking.

If you’d like to move your thread to TPAS, you can ‘Report’ it and ask a Mod to move it. A lot of group questions are answered on TPAS.

I would also love to hear how to plan for large student groups. We may be going with choir as well and since I'm the Disney planner I would want to help with planning. Nothing better than a well planned trip to get the most out of it.

I chaperoned a band trip two years ago. I was given my kids' tickets the night we arrived in Orlando but went ahead then and got what fastpasses I could.

It's a very different trip than you would have with your family, so just be ready for it to be a different experience. I went with a "majority rules" approach to how we spent our days and tried my best to pack in as much as possible since I didn't know if some of the kids in my group would ever experience another Disney trip.
