Any thoughts on how busy it will be Mother's Day weekend?

We just booked a spontaneous trip for our sons' 4th bday! We'll be there May 5-9.

Any thoughts/input on how busy we should expect it to be? I know the Pirates 4 premiere is on the 7th and Mother's Day is on the 8th. Will these impact crowds much?

I'm considering buying membership for touringplans.com so I can get a better idea.

One of my brothers was there last year during MD and he said it was very busy and that was not with the POTC premier going on so I suspect it will be a zoo, just my .02.

It's Mother's Day weekend and unofficial Bats Day weekend....should be an interesting combination.

Well since it's a popular weekend for locals to do an overnight and stay onsite. Sounds bad because AP discounts are not available at the GCH. Maybe a bunch of the GCH was booked for the PTOC premier, but that is a bad indicator.

Not busy at all. Father's Day is crowded, Mother's Day is Just another Sunday in May, light crowds and nice weather.

I spent last Mother's Day there and it was busy, but not insane busy. All the Mother's got flowers at the main gate, which was nice. This year it's hard to say with it being premiere weekend...I'm betting that will make it much more crowded.

I didn't mean any disrespect to anyone. This is what I read as posted on the Dis Board under Disneyland and what is happening in May, 2011: 'An annual Goolish "Goth" Gathering at Disneyland.'

I wasn't inferring that you were. It's just that many people come for many reason and dress in many styles. The main thing is they wear black.

Well, that ought to make it interesting. We have noticed that a fair number of people visiting DL seem to wear black. This was so different from the bright tropical wear that we are used to seeing at WDW and the black clothing really stood out to us.

I wear black all the time, have a black truck, black vette, etc and I am as far from goth that you can get. I spoke with a number of folks wearing gothic type clothing and had some very nice converstaions. We all dress diferently, so who cares. It will make the place busier.
