Any Thoughts on Cape May Cafe?

We've never tried Cape May Cafe and were looking for thoughts on this place. I searched through the forums, but couldn't find anything. What do they serve for breakfast? Is it continental style or hot like CM's?

Its a full buffet. Last year we did both Cape May breakfast and Chef Mickey breakfast and I remember most of the same food items being available at both, though I think Chef Mickeys had a couple more options. Cape May breakfast was great though, and we are booked for it again this year.

Breakfast was good. The character interaction was great. I wouldn't necessarily write home about the breakfast food, its breakfast and I don't necessarily remember anything remarkable about it. I do remember it wasn't bad, LOL.

THough, dinner is so yummy. All you can eat seafood! We loved it so much on our last trip we ate there our first and last nights :)

I liked Cape May Cafe breakfast. 2 yrs ago. Food was delicious and nice variety. We did morning magic hours at Epcot, then walked to the Beach Club Resort, then back to Epcot. The characters did meet and greets at our table but really nothing else special. Still nice. Other character meals do a little parade or something.

Unlike one of the PP I thought the Cape May breakfast buffet had more options than Chef Mickeys. We ate there once (Cape May) and walked away happy with the food and very pleased with the character interaction.

Food was fresh, plentiful and a nice variety.

We've done Cape May several times, and enjoyed it a lot.
It's a little less hectic than Chef Mickey's, IMO, because the characters only table-hop, there's no parade or napkin waving ;)

The offered foodstuffs are about the same, maybe a bit better. Personally, I think the decor is nicer, too.

If you're going without kids, and you want to interact with the characters, DO NOT let them stick you with seating against the back wall - I think that's their 'Grumpy Corner' (all diners in that area had no children with them).
We waited an extra 20+ minutes last time, rather than be seated there again.
The only acknowledgement we got there was a quick wave from Goofy - the others passed right by as if our section of the restaurant didn't exist :sad1:

You searched and didn't find anything? Wow. This place comes up almost daily. :) It's great! We love both breakfast and dinner here. I find it far and away better than Chef Ms. (though I do wish for Mickey). We love the character interaction here the most because they have always taken their time and not acted rushed. We usually go when it first opens too so the tables are not all full and that will often increase your time w/ the characters. It's a breakfast buffet so it's pretty similar to all the rest of them, but in our experiences, everything has been well done and fresh.
In addition to all that, we've had a few of our all-time most magical Disney experiences in this restaurant. I hope it continues to deliver that magic. :wizard:

Been there once, I really like seafood, so it fits me. DW and kids not big fans but were able to find plenty of land fare and were satisfied. Smells a little fishy so some who are turned off by this may not go for it. Its good IMO.

They have a French Toast casserole if I remember correctly and it's delicious!!!! Cape May had Donald, Goofy and Minnie.

Cape May is perhaps my favorite restaurant when it comes to character interaction; to make it short, it was excellent. As for the food, I can't say the same thing. Was the food terrible? No. Was it good? Well no. IMHO, it was average. While the fruit was good and the food was hot, I found the offerings to be nothing any different than one would find on a buffet table at any Golden Corral. I was very shocked to find that for the price of Cape May they did not offer a fresh omelet station. Having an offering of pre-made omelets sitting on a steam table was not overly appetizing to me. :)

***Note*** This opinion is coming from someone who is not a big breakfast fan and is satisfied with a bowl of Cheerios and a banana for breakfast. I just am not overly excited of spending $15-$25 for pancakes, waffles, eggs, and bacon or using a table serve credit on the ddp for breakfast.

We've done both breakfast and dinner and have never been disappointed. My dd loves crab legs and the garlic mashed potatoes so dinner is always a must do. I'm not a big breakfast eater so I don't like going to the buffets but I have enjoyed this one and my dd loves the characters in their beach clothes.

We've eaten here at breakfast all 3 times of our family trips, and we really have enjoyed each visit. As someone else mentioned, it seems a bit less hectic here; the characters have always been playful with us and took their time with autographs and pictures at our table. We've found the food to be a bit better @ this breakfast buffet than other places, but that is obviously subjective. :)

NOTE: Average food quality. This is not the quality of a
New England seafood buffet. So, due to the quality, the
buffet is overpriced. They do have crab legs, but they are
smaller legs and REALLY stingy with the meat. Not high in
quality, but will do in a pinch, as will the clams and mussels.
Let's face it, you can't make good profit on quality crab legs,
clams and mussells on a medium-priced buffet.
