Behold----the great Millennium walk

The ENTIRE (30 minutes playing time) video and audio of Tapestry of Nations from the Millennium Celebration, courtesy of http://www.disneydreams.net. (I doubt a dialup can handle it, but cable and DSL will have no trouble, about 11 meg file).

What a beautifully moving parade it was, what a wonderful memory, so sorry to see it is history.

Thanks for the memorium, Dan! I am REALLY going to miss this GREAT parade! I think they will have to go a LONG ways to outdo this one! I like the Animal Kingdom one too. I hope that doesn't get hatcheted too!

I also am going to dread the change of Future World. I can't believe they are taking away my two favorites, Spaceship Earth and Cranium Command!

I have a dial up so I will not be able to see it but, We did enjoy watching this parade on our last trip!

This was definately one of our all time favorite parades. DH has made some audio CD's for us with the soundtrack that I just love and we have it on video.

I'm hoping that what Disney comes up with next is just as wonderful, but we will definately miss this one.

This was one of the pure highlights of our first Disney trip (2000) and we have loved the Tapestry of Dreams as well. I am truly sorry to see it go. It makes me even sadder to see spaceship earth and cranium command go. These are two of the better ones at Futureworld... why would they pick these to go... instead let's get rid of "body wars" etc that are low on the agenda for most folks. Oh well....

To me ToN was the best parade Disney(in any park) has put together since the Main Street Electrical Parade.

I'm going to miss it terribly. It was one the main highlights of going down to WDW every time. As Mary said, I have made up custom cd's from the commercially available ones for us to listen to, and I always include ToN one way or another. Did anyone else get the Energizer freebie Millennium Celebration CD? If you did, you got something VERY special- You got the soundtrack from the Disney Millennium celebration at the Super Bowl! I usually use that cut as it's shorter than the half hour and combines elements of both ToN and Reflections of Earth on one fluid song.

And, I'm going to d/l this clip(Thanks Dan!), but I'm going to be working up a special version from all the digital video footage I've shot of the parade over the years of attending it. The very least I can do in recognition of the best of the best!


A note for dialup users:
If you want to view it, follow these steps exactly(it will take time):

• Right click on Dan's link and pick 'Save target as'
• A standard windows dialogue will appear, pick your desktop as the save place.
• Wait while it saves it, probably a full hour or so.

TON/TOD didn't win me over at first....but the more I saw it and listened to the music, the more I liked it! I will also miss this wonderful parade.

What will it be replaced with, does anyone know?

Thank you, Dan. The photos are amazing, and I can't wait to hear the music. I'm on a dial-up, so it might take a while, but I'm determined to hear it!

I echo what everyone else has said - I'll miss the parade terribly. I was lucky enough to become friends with some of the parade CM's, and they were all devistated when it ended. Hopefully something better (is that possible?!) will replace it in the future.

Thanks Dan. I still cry every time I listen to the Millenium Celebration CD, and I bawled like a baby the last time (and I knew it would be the last time) I saw ToD.

There's a rumor going around that Disney is planning to bring back ToN "after a major overhaul" ( I don't know why they don't just bring it back the way it was - it was perfect!, but...) -- I can't remember where I read about it, or even if it was on the Dis or not --- So cross your fingers, along with me --

MarkRPG - I saved the file following your directions, but at first I couldn't view it. It took about 56 minutes to download & then I got a message about being unable to find the correct decompression codecs. I just got it to download the codecs & was watching it, but the focus is poor. Did it get the wrong codecs, or is the focus not that great due to the low lighting?
