i am staying at po-fq for the first time from 6/2 - 6/12 i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for room requests?

POFQ is a very compact resort. You could hit a golf ball from one to the other very easily. No matter what room you get you are pretty centrally located. Buildings 2-5 are the closest to Jackson Square (front desk/food court/store/etc) but the others are not far at all.

I agree with GoldenOldie. Other than smoking or non-smoking, it really won't matter. None of the rooms are more than a very short walk away and even the standard view rooms have nice garden/landscaping to look at. We've always been pleased with our room location at PO-FQ. Enjoy your trip!

I think it depends on your situation. If you are using a stroller you might want to request a ground floor room. The bldgs. have elevators but only in the middle. If you are one end by the stairs you do a lot of "back tracking" to get to the escalator. That might be a consideration. If you want to be closest to the pool then you will want to request bldg. 5 or bldg 2 (I think). And, if you want a waterview of the river, I think the most centrally located bldg is bldg 5.

I agree with the other posters that POFQ is a very small resort. None of the rooms are way out there. But if you get in the outer buildings then you tend to have more privacy as there isn't as much traffic. And, many think it is much more romantic.

Also, if you don't like overhead noise then you might want to request a top floor room. Although we have seldom had a problem there was one visit where the people in the room above us wore army boots -- especially at 1am.

Personally we always request bldg. 5. But, we have stayed in bldg. 4, 5 and 6. All excellent locations.

Hi, I have stayed there once before and we had 3d floor. We had a beautiful veiw, but up and down the steps all day with kids was a pain. We are going again in June and I requested building 2 bottom floor. This way my kids can go back and forth to the pool, which they do alot of,with out going up alot of steps. Does any body know if this will be alot noisier? thanks corvair

I LOVE talking about this resort!!! I always request building number 5 for several reasons. It is very close to the pool, food court, main building and bus stop. I've had rooms on each level and all have been great. There are elevators in each building if you need them. I've always had a courtyard view (but paid the standard rate) and it is beautiful and very quiet. The last time I was there I had a room next to the stairs and just around the corner from the pool, but did not hear anything. These rooms are well insulated. Don't forget to get the free-refill mugs. You can use these both at POFQ and POR, since they are sister resorts. Another plus for the FQ is that the buses ALWAYS stop here first, so you know you'll get a seat. Don't forget to take the boat down to DTD.

If you can, take a walk around the resort early in the morning. It is so quiet and peaceful and you really get to soak up the atmosphere of the resort.
