Hello. We are planning on staying at the FW cabins. Could you give me some suggestions on where the best location is for us. I would like to put in a request. I know it is not a guarentee, but figured worth a try.

It will be me, DH and two DD ages 3 and 1. Figured spending most of the time at MK. Been reading that the internal bus system is not very good and a bit worried about that. We will have a rental car. Staying 5 nights-last minute trip. We will have a double stroller (ugh) too.

I would imagine that 3yr DD would like to do the campfire, movie with Chip and Dale.

Do we need to bring our own smores stuff? Do they have marshmallow sticks or do we need to purchase those too?

Thanks for any help you can give!!

Although you will have to fold up the stroller for the internal bus, I think taking the ferry to MK will work the best for you. If you drive you have to take the tram to either the monorail or the large ferry to get to MK. We usually drive to the other parks.

There are somemore kits with sticks available for purchase at the campfire. Many people like to request cabin loop 2500 because it's near the small quiet pool and laundry for the cabins. Some people also like to request close to the bus stop, so they don't have a long walk after the parks.

I personally don't mind the internal bus system, just take the time to understand how it works.

For the cabins, you might want to bring salt and pepper, small cups for the bathroom, and basket type filters for the coffee maker.

I think you'll have a :tink: pixie dusted visit!

If you study the maps of the bus system it doesn't take long to figure out the system. My kids really enjoyed the busses when they were younger. The boat to the MK is really the easiest route, although we also took the boat to CR just to take the monorail from there because again the kids liked it. You will love the cabins and they are all an easy walk to the bus stops. I agree with the previous poster that a request to be close the pool would be a good idea. You can also rent a golf cart instead of the busses but they are a little pricey, but alot of fun. Enjoy your trip. :)

You might want to go to allearsnet.com, there you will find a lot of info on Fort Wilderness.I agree that the best way to MK is the internal bus which runs every 10 minuets to the boat dock.We never rent a car when we stay at the cabins,we use Magic Express from the airport then use WDW transportation. You cannot drive around the campground except to your cabin or a 15 minuet stop at the Meadows store. The internal buses are great just take a minuet to study the bus map and you will be fine. Have a great trip. :cheer2:

Hi.
I also read on another thread the 2100 and 2200 loops are good. They are both fairly close to the campfire/movie site and the larger pool.
We reserved a golf cart for the week on friends recommendation. In December we will be going for our first visit to Disney and at the Cabins. We can't wait
I found lots of information just searching the forums on disboards. :coffee:

I am sure I'm the only one who did this, but the first time I read the map I was so tired that I thought the purple route ended at the point where it goes off the map a bit (and that it did not go to the settlement area).

It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the internal buses before 9:30 PM on your arrival day.
