Any suggestions for AKL pool view room?

We just got ressies for AKL pool view room and I was wondering if they are all the same or if anyone had a special location?

Wondering this myself! Lots of talk about standard and savannah, but not much that is specific about pool view. Anybody want to throw in their two cents?

My in-laws had a spectacular pool view room! In fact, I preferred it to our savannah view (but I'm a water person - I love any kind of water view.) They were on Zebra trail - the same floor as the lobby - the 3rd, I think, but I could be wrong. I'll email MIL and see if she still knows what room # it was. It was a great room and literally seconds away from the pools, lobby, dining, etc. They said it was also very quiet. They really enjoyed their stay there.

I am just back from AKL and i had a great pool view room It was above Boma on the fifth floor and the view was great of the pool. The room number was #5410 . You could sit out on the balcony and have dinner and really enjoy it.

daisylove, I just answered your question on another thread but just in case you don't see it here it goes again: We were on the lobby level on Giraffe Trail just above the slide. We could see some animals (including giraffes and flamingos) from our balcony as well as most of the pool and one of the jacuzzis. We brought binoculars so we could see the animals pretty well. It made for some very enjoyable morning coffee!

Hi.

We love pool view, so many "animals" to watch at all times of the day! In April, my dh & I had a room near 5018 (can't remember the exact room number but it is right there). It was right off the elevator, near the ice machine and, as a plus, the stairs were right across from our door (sorta) and if you went down and out the door, you were right at that secret door near the bus-stop! THAT was nice after a long night at the parks!

Here is some pics from that room. From the balcony, if you look forward and right, you see part of a savannah and the flamingos, straight ahead is the pool. Great Room!

The Pool View rooms are located on two trails. The Giraffe Trail and the Zebra Trail. The pool area is very beautiful. We have stayed in pool view rooms twice, once on each trail and both were great.

We stayed in a room with a view almost identical to zakatak and loved it. We were on the Giraffe Trail and could see the pool and the giraffes.

Thanks everyone! All this is making me feel really good about reserving pool-view! I asked for an "unobstructed pool view" as request #2 when I reserved. Do you think this will put me on one Trail or another, or are there unobstructed views on both trails?

We had a beautiful unobstructed pool view room on the 5th floor, Zebra Trail. We were two doors down from the elevators that took you to the pool, Mara, laundry, the arcade, and the lobby. If I knew how to paste the picture of our view into my post, I would! Have a great time!

We have a res. for a deluxe (5th floor) pool view and have requested a King Bed. Did anyone have a room with a King bed, just wondering where those rooms might be on the 5th floor.

Has anyone had the rooms with the bunk beds. Trying to decide if my DD5 would like that now that we have the pool view.

We just spent 2 days at AKL a standard view on Zebra for $139 per night. We were less than 30 metres from the pool, on the ground floor and could see giraffes walking right past the window from the balcony, marvelous!!! Watch out for mossies though, the little devils are everywhere, you cannot sit out at night without loads of mossie guard. Room 1485

We were 4th floor close to lobby on the Giraffe Trail. We had a partial view of pool and a close up view of all the roofs of Boma, Jiko etc.

We never used balcony. We have stayed with a Savanna view and loved that.
