Hi,

We're going to WDW for Thanksgiving this year for 9 nights. We're going with our 2 children dd 8 and ds 7 and my parents. We would like to stay in a 3 bedroom villa. I had e:mailed Wyndham Palms with some accessibilty questions and they never e:mailed back. I called them yesterday and the reservation agent seemed as if he couldn't be bother with my questions so I asked to speak to a supervisor. She did answer my questions but was pretty rude about it. This has left a negative impression of the type of service we may receive once we are there so I would like to look for some alternatives.

I would appreciate any recommendations you guys have :)
Thanks,
Christine

Hi Christine,

We recently rented a home in Kissimmee from this management company and were very happy with it!!

You'll find many suggestions from others as well I'm sure. Just browse through and find what suits you best!! Good luck and have a wonderful vacation at WDW!!!:)

You may want to check out the Marriott Vacation Club properties. I think Imperial Palms is all three bedroom. There are also 3 bdrm accommodations at Marriott Grand Vista, but it doesn't look like there are any regular discounts in that time frame. (I've been checking out these properties for a possible Tday trip as well.)

HTH!

Thank you for your responses. We did a vacation home once and it was nice but we prefer staying on a property. I'll check out the Imperial Palms and the Grand Vista. Great ideas - thanks!!

i saw that the Cypress Point Grand Villas are being offered on www.hotelkingdom.com for a reasonable rate between $64-89.00 per nite. Might be worth looking into, it's received great reviews from families.

Edited to add:

I just checked Nov. 11-21 just for giggles and this is what's available:

2BR villa $88.46 p/night
3 BR villa $128.47 p/night

Thanks Lorix2,

How would you compare the Marriott Grande Vista to the Vistana Villages?

Christine :)

sncbird -

V.V. 3 *** much smaller resort than MGV, beautifully decorated and landscaped, villas immaculate, great pool, some activities poolside, bar and deli/store.

MGV - 5***** Even more beautiful grounds, villas also immaculate, 5 or 7 pools to choose from, can't rememeber exactly, much more activities offered for kids and adults, deli/store, bar, shops, a large indoor play area with tubes and slides, my kids loved that, surrey rentals, boat rentals....

MGV is my favorite so far, you'd be happy at either resort, but with your kids, I think you'd really enjoy the MGV, lots of families and the main pool is right near a sand area (gated by the water) for a beach type atmosphere with shower spouts to wash off.

sncbird...you may also want to check the timeshares for rent ads at TUG - Timeshare Users Group - www.tug2.net.

Also, I see you've stayed at MOWC...I'm assuming Marriott Orlando World Center. How did you like that property? I'm trying to decide between a 2bdrm at Sabal Palms at MOWC and a 1 bdr. at Grand Vista for Thanksgiving.

Thanks!

Hi Mulanmom,

We loved the MOWC. The pool is awesome!! I'm also looking at the Imperial Palms or the Grande Vista. Big price difference. A 3 bedroom at the Imperial Palms is $181 (with AAA discount) and it's $309  at the Grande Vista. HGVC looks really great too but I"m having trouble finding pricing.

How does Tug work? Never used it before.

Christine

you just go to www.tug2.net,

click classifieds
click orlando rentals
then surf the listings of resorts with their descriptions, prices and locations. All owners have the contact info there for you.

That's how we found the MGV and got a great deal of $850.00 for a week for a 2BR villa.

sncbird...lorix2 is right on the money. You may want to book something you can eventually cancel and wait to see if what you want comes up for rent. There are also "looking to rent" ads on TUG which can generate interest, but I'd suggest setting up a separate email address to receive replies. I don't know if you have to be a member to post a Looking to rent ad.

With the Marriott Grand Vista, you may want to check out a special deal they have going. If you go to vacationclub.com (which is for Marriott Vacation Club), there is a banner ad for Grand Vista about a 3 or 5 night deal which includes two 4 day WDW park hopper plus tickets. I heard from another Tugger that for the Thanksgiving dates he was looking at, nothing was showing with online reservations, but when he called, he was able to get his nights plus a substantial discount on a subsequent night. He also got $150 off by agreeing to a timeshare presentation.

Thanks for the feedback on Sabal Palms. We booked a 2bdr there for $149/night with AAA discount. I think that's going to be a hard price to beat. The price for the 3 bdrm at the Imperial looks pretty good, too!

Hi Lorix2 and MulanMom ,

Thank you both for your great advice. We're pretty much sold in the MGV for this trip. I think I'm going to call the 1-800-Villas-9 number to see what kind of price they can give me. The promo right now for a 2 bedroom is 5 nights and 2 adult 4 day park hopper + 1 plus for $1200.00. We're staying 9 nights so I would like to see what the other 4 nights would cost. The promo code incase anyone is interested is ETMR. They have rates listed for a studio & 1 bedroom as well. There is also a 3 night offer.

I will keep checking Tug as well!!

Thanks again for everything!!
Christine

You're so welcome :wave2:

I really hope you get to stay here, you WILL NOT be dissappointed :D

You guys got me all excited about the MGV!! I called and booked it!! If I find a better offer down the road I can always cancel the reservation. The promo code basically gives us the 2 - 4 day park hoppers for free. We also have the option to do the 90 minute Time Share presentation and get $150.00 in money to spend at the Hotel. Considering they my dad and husband want to golf - that might come in handy. The gentleman I spoke with (James) was very nice and informative. He answered all my questions about the room and put no pressure what-so-ever on me to do the timeshare presentation.

Thanks again for everything!!
Christine :)

Christine - I'm so excited for you :) and BTW, that's my guy you're talking about in your tag;)

Try to request a top floor. We were in building 91, called "Denia". It overlooked a quite pool to the right and to the left was the beautiful green of the golf course and I could see other buildings in the far distance. It was so peaceful, we loved spending time out on the balcony. The elevator was about 3 doors down and never heard any foot traffic.

:D You're welcome, sncbird! Glad to hear you booked MGV. It's a beautiful resort. Have a great time!!! :earsgirl:
