any still doing Target gift cards

No, it is a lot of work for 5% depending on how much you are getting. We used the the fuel points and credit card 2-5% back.

With that said, We had numerous problems with the gift cards this last go around with money not getting credited etc. I have had it work many times before and was like "heck yeah" but when it goes wrong or difficulties arise you change your tune a bit. You then start to think about how much your time is worth. Depending on the % and the amount it still can but there are those times it is not.

It is funny because I never realized how much that little promo from Target kept me in their stores. I am hardly ever there now. Target had the right to stop the promo but I wonder if there were many others like me who actually spent more at their store because of it?

I used Disney cards purchased at Target with my red card to pay for our trip last September. I didn't have any pharmacy rewards. I purchased $2000 worth of cards and paid $1900. The $100 I saved paid for our daughter's BBB appointment (brought our own dress) and for her Pirate's League appointment. I called Disney directly a few times to use the cards and it really didn't take long each time so it was worth it to me. It worked great.

I've buying them a couple hundred dollars at a time...5% is 5%.

I just email the numbers to my TA and she applies it to our balance! Super easy!!

Of course, if you can wait until Black Friday, then Target comes up huge, with 20-24% savings on Disney Gift Cards.

Here is the link to last year's deal. Just do $75 of online or in store shopping at Target on Black Friday, and you'll get a 20% coupon off your entire purchase in the first week of December. So you could then buy $1,000 with of Disney "Entertainment" Cards for $800, or $760 if you have a Target RedCard. The only thing that limits you is the number of Disney gift cards they have in stock at your store. So do a practice run on Black Friday to see if your store carries enough cards. You may need to buy $75 of Black Friday stuff twice to get two coupons to clear out 2 Targets.

Although that did work 2 yrs ago, last yr gift cards were excluded and did not work on disney cards so don't expect it to happen from now on.

I use it. I have about 500.00 worth of gift cards that I used on our most recent trip. I had booked room only.

One thing to note though was that they wouldn't let me apply more of them than what we owed on the room or through charging to the room so I had to stop by the front desk twice to get them all applied.

Unfortunately the Black Friday coupon from 2013 excluded gift cards. In the past, those coupons did work on gift cards but I think those days are long gone.

I'm definitely still doing it as I agree with others, 5% is something for us! I look at it as a challenge and then the "free" amount I get back.

I also finally caved in and created a Disney Vacation account online after researching it so I could earn approximately another 2% back (they give you a $20 Disney gift card after you've saved or paid $1000 in). I have a budget for our 6/2015 Norway cruise and since I'm already buying the gift cards, might as well apply them to my Disney Vacation account because honestly this will save me time too since I won't have to call Costco (who I booked with) to then call DCL to apply them. So I'm actually saving time this way, and earning at least another $120 in free money for doing so. It's about $400 total savings between the 5% at Target and 2% at Disney Vacation account. There are a few stipulations like you have to have the account active 120 days before you can earn the actual gift cards to redeem but since we aren't cruising until next year, plenty of time. I can also get a full refund back to my Disney gift cards I entered at any time. :thumbsup2
