Hi all,
Ive made a right mess of my carpet whilst painting-are there any miracle cures for getting paint out of carpets please?

Normally i reach for a pack of baby wipes, they seem to remove everything, or try nail varnish remover, white spirit might work but I wouldn't promise not to bleach the carpet.....my housemate assures me nail varnish remover is the way to go! Good luck

Lynn What sort of paint is it. Is it water base paint & were was you putting it.
If its emulson it should come if you catch it right away , but i think it could be a litter harder to remove if gloss paint. If you have a vax or something like that was the carpet straight away & you could be lucky.
I hope you get it off in the end

Depends on the age/size of the carpet and the location of the paint etc... but if you want the marks out, then the best advice is to call a professional carpet cleaner and get them to quote (they tend to do carpets on a "by room" basis).

We had a problem just before christmas - husband let some tradesmen in to collect something from our first floor living room, he didn't insist that they took their shoes off, they trod dirt through our hall and all up our stairs (all beigey carpet) . If he had left it to dry, we MIGHT have been able to hoover it out, but he didn't: he panicked (knew how upset I would be) and attacked it with Vanish carpet cleaner and a cloth. Needless to say he rubbed it in and made it MUCH worse...

We got a carpet cleaner in and there is now no trace of anything on the carpet - so very good (there is no way we could have done it ourselves). It isn't cheap (for a reasonable sized room you are probably talking about £50 - although you might be able to hagle or get a deal if you wanted more rooms done), but if your carpet is important to you...
