I'm booked at 4:30 on 10/2 for Epcot DiveQuest. Anyone done this before and have a first-hand account? I've read some great reviews, and I'm more excited about it than anything else! A little nervous about those sharks, but whatever :rolleyes1 ;) Is anyone else planning on doing this tour around the same time?

I haven't done this but I did go with the swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove. While a little expensive (about $250), it included a meal and 7 days before or after the Discovery Cove swim at SeaWorld. I spent most of that week at SeaWorld; it helps that I like the place Have fun!

I looked at Discovery Cove and really thought hard about it, after all the positive reviews. I only decided against it because I'd be snorkeling in the Bahamas 2 days later, and I thought that I couldn't really justify the cost to myself. But one day I will do the Dolphin swim, because that looks amazing :)

I did this with my Dh last Oct . It was GREAT ! I think I enjoyed the interaction with the kids on the other side of the glass.

Ask away if you have any questions : )

I think it is more just to say that you have done it rather than anything spectacular about the dive itself. I agree that the interaction between yourself and the spectators is fun but beyond that there is not much. For a really great dive...visit St. Croix and dive off of Christianstad or stay at one of tha all inclusive Resorts in Jamaica where two dives per day are included in the price.

I was seriously considering doing DiveQuest and read all of the wonderful reviews. I had been to Disney a few times but had actually never been over to the Living Seas. When I went in, I was somewhat disappointed by what I saw from just walking around and looking in the tanks. Not at all what I had imagined.

Anyway, I decided against it at the time, but I might do it in the future just to say I've done it. It didn't appear to be anything spectacular, just a big tank. Nothing like what I saw on my dives in Negril, Jamaica. :teeth:

I was planning an October trip, but I'm afraid it was to Disneyland (and those plans are on hold for now). However, if I were going to be at WDW on 10/2 I'd join ya on the dive.

Oh, and don't worry about the sharks... the most they would do is grab a few chunks and keep going. :rotfl2: j/k They are well fed, so you won't have any problems with the sealife... just some curious fishes coming to check you out.

Oh, I fully expect it to not be like my Cozumel dives :rotfl: Can't beat those. Well, I'm sure you can, but they were amazing. As long as I'm in the water and hanging around fish and interacting with the people on the other side of the glass, I'll be happy.

It's better than being here at work, right? ;)

I did DiveQuest a few years ago. It's definitely something to do at least once and I may do it again sometime. You will see a lot of stuff in a short time and a small area. If you have not done a lot of diving you'll probably see things you haven't seen before. It's also a lot of fun to be the show! Interacting with the folks at the observation areas and the restaurant was really neat! As for the sharks, I always tell my students that to them, you're just another big fish! They are amazing to see underwater. the move so smoothly, makes me feel that the big noisy thing I'm in their environment! The sharks in the tank there did stay in a specific area while we watched them and you can stay well away and out of the way without a problem.
