How do we add our dates to the calender?

Hi, gang!

I changed the settings on the calendar so anyone can add events to it. I'm traveling more for my job and Dis'ing less :sad2: and I'm having a hard time keeping up with everyone's dates. So have at it...post at will!

Remember, the calendar site is a bit cranky and can require a lot of refreshing; but be patient, and it will eventually load for you.

Sonotaprincess is the one who made the calendar. You can either try to find her on here and send her a pm, or go ahead and post your dates on the board and hopefully she will see them and put them on the calendar! :goodvibes

I was able to create but I could not edit. For May I goof by putting ttester9612 at SOG 'til 4/11 and it should read 5/11. Can you change this for me.

Thanks, Teresa

There's another way of meeting people face-to-face. Have you ever attended the Disney Fans Meet? This year it will be held in Allentown, PA on July 15. It's a full day of Disney fun, including special presentations by the authors of the Hidden Mickeys guide and the PassPorter. For details go to the dismeet web page.

14 days to WDW.

Thought I would just jump in on this thread.

I am a 44yo WWF (not a wrestler...a widowed white female) from the great state of Texas. My daughter and I will be in WDW 4/22-4/28. My husband passed away last August and was disabled for several years prior to that. This will be our first vacation in almost three years.

Hello all. I found a link to this board on another travel board I like and decided to sign in when I saw this thread.

Yes, the nic is true, I am a single Florida :sunny: Native. When I was a little sprite I lived in Orlando BD. That’s Before Disney. Just dated myself. Ouch. Hate to say it but I liked the city better then. I now live a little north of the Orlando area but work/vacation travel often finds me driving to MCO for better prices or better yet better schedules—nonstops to all over!

On the OP scale I only rate a 6. I am a Sea World fan, I have an annual pass and arrange time to stop by on the way to or from the airport or when I can. Might be there this weekend.

The reason I dropped by is to give you one opinion why I am more a SW fan. It is far easier to enjoy the animals as a solo traveler. At SW I can have an enjoyable time and not notice I am solo.

The WDW parks are more fun with at least one companion. They just seem to be set up for groups of two or more. Unlike SW, I feel out of place as a solo visitor in a WDW park. Perhaps it is because there is more standing in line at WDW and waiting by yourself is mind numbingly boring. No, I’m not going to bring a good book to read. Off peak at SW there is almost no standing in line.

Anyhow, I live right next to I-75 so half you Yankees are driving right by me on the way south. Perhaps one of you Disney Princesses wants stop by and pick up a Local Guide :teeth: for your next trip south if you don’t want to visit solo. I’m open to being converted to a WDW fan.

Welcome, FlaNative. :wave2: I'm sure we can work on converting you to a full fledged WDW fan. Please check out the site dismates.com. There is a group of us who meet in chat everynight at dismates. It's a great way to meet some new folks.

Melanie

Hi Renee,

I thought you were with the World Wildlife Fund (who successfuly sued the World Wrestling Federation and made it change its name to World Wrestling Entertainment [WWE]).

Nice to meet all the newbies!

Hi FlaNative,
No, you don't want to date yourself. That can get pretty dull in a hurry. :rotfl: Why don't you stop by dismates some evening soon and introduce yourself. There are a bunch of friendly single would-be princesses who'd love to take a try at converting you. And heck, some of us would even be happy taking a few side trips to Sea World now and then. I *love* Kracken... :Pinkbounc:

We generally start to gather around 9pm eastern...

FlaNative I agree with you, I haven't been to WDW since 1992. As a single parent with a young child, I couldn't afford to go every year. Once my son got older I could finally afford it but he said he was "To Old" for WDW. (No one's ever TO OLD). I would have loved to go, but didn't want to go solo. Never thought about going to SW solo. At last, in 14 days I'll get to be a BIG KID at WDW but I'm not going solo. A friend is going, she goes every year (sometimes twice year).

I have been away from this thread for a while and haven't been on the Dismates chat lately either.. I tried to get into the chat last night.. However, I was lagging so bad that I closed the chat down.. I was then unable to access the chat function again.. In fact, I couldn't access Dismates website again... Anyone else have similar problems last night?

Ohh, and I am back and on the prowl.. Watch out ladies... :)

I had issues as well but finally got it settled on the second go round. If it's any consolation you didn't miss too much. Not one of the more exciting chats.

Great to see some new folks (and some old ones, too ;) ) in chat last night. I'll be back in tonight, and hopefully it will move faster.

Maybe we need to adverise in the midwest lol. Have a good day everyone. :Pinkbounc

OK, a friend gave me the link to this board so I thought I may as well post. I'm from the midwest, living in WI. I have been to Disney 4 times and it is my favorite place to go. 3 times while married, and dh didn't "get" the disney magic, and once with a friend when I won a trip. I've stayed at the All-Star Sports, AS Movies and Beach Club. I'm a single mom, 46 years old, with 2 kids. My oldest will be going off to college this fall. I want to know how all the other single moms afford to go to Disney World so often? I would love to take my youngest son next December, but can't ever seem to save up enough money to go. How do you all do it???
