Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

Has anyone been able to customize/order MBs without doing Online Check-in? We have never seen the need to do online checkin, so we hadn't planned to.

Based on what people are posting, it seems like it's tied to online check-in. Maybe Disney is doing this on purpose, anticipating that people who do online check-in are probably comfortable using the MDE website, and therefore won't need as much guidance with the whole process (including FP+), both during set-up and once they're at the resort. Just a theory, though.

Yes, I did not do online check in for my RO at pop. As soon as I booked it, I was able to order MB's and schedule FP+.

Understand.

Can you post back here if your able to get the magic bands switched to another NON testing resort?

I have been told twice, on two different occasions, that they already are tied to my resort stay at a non testing resort. Hope this helps.

Honestly, It's not really "checking in". It's more confirming your information, basically. Any reason you don't want to?
I added AKL today, and 15 minutes after online check in I was working on our magic bands and fast passes. Really amazing...and I don't often say that about Disney's IT. :rotfl:

Yeah, online check-in just seems to be providing some additional details and making room requests (which is something you'd probably want to do anyway).

Since any of that info can be changed at any time (either online by checking in again or in person when you arrive), I don't see any drawbacks to doing online check-in.

So are only people doing online check in getting to customize the Magicbands at this point?

We are stay POR Sept 19-27. FP + is avail but no MB option yet. We are NOT checked in online. (I wasn't planning to)

I think when u do the checkin it refreshes your whole reservation in a sense, therefore triggering the bands that probably would be available later anyway

Hadn't planned to do online check-in because I honestly enjoy the check-in process and interacting with the CM. Also, we have room requests, and if we don't get what we've requested, I want to be able to tell the CM that we are happy to wait a few hours if something with open up. I feel like online check-in is meant to expedite things and get you into a room right away, and I feel that going from there to Guest Services to make requests and whatnot is not in the spirit of online check-in.

Perhaps a good reminder to be patient and wait a few days to see if things come available on their own. We don't get to Poly for a few weeks, so we've got time for MBs.

.

We always choose online check-in and have had no problem changing rooms upon arrival.

We are staying at the Polynesian 9/21-9/26, and I just noticed that the system allows me to make FP+ reservations online...? (I have linked my Annual Pass to my Disney Experience account).

If I make these reservations, will they actually work? I don't think I'll be getting a MagicBand, and I haven't swapped my paper AP for one of the new contactless plastic ones yet.

We are checking in the same day at the Poly also and I was able to make our FP+ reservation and I ordered our MB today too!

Well I wanted to make a room request closer to check in and I heard you can't really put specifics in for online check in

You can list up to 2 room requests online. For example 1. bldg 5 and 2. facing lake. You can also call and add requests to your ressie. Then they will remind you that these are only requests and not guaranteed. An early check-in time helps you get your requests met as well.

Ok. I went back into the system and did online check in. Once I reconfirmed the check in, the magic band customize link popped up!! All our bands are ordered. Super excited. Hope it's not a pain in the ****. Lol

I went into MDE this morning and booked BOG ressies but when I went back n to get my confirmation number I was unable to get into any Disney site. Said my username and password did not match. Frustrating!

I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!!

Thank you everyone for the tips, I had done FP+ selections 2 days ago but alas no MB, until someone gave the tip to re-do the online check-in and VOILA! Customized bands done and waiting to ship (of course, being from Canada they won't ship to me but should be waiting for me at the resort - boo).

The only thing I can't do is make a BOG ressie. I used the MB confirmation number, which gives me the following error message (which is farther than I got before getting the MBs):

Thank you for participating. Please try again later. If you continue to encounter this message, you can seek further assistance at the Lobby Concierge desk at your Walt Disney World resort or upon arrival at the Be Our Guest restaurant.

I am hoping I'm just too early? I arrive on September 25th.

Do you have magical express reservations, that's the number I was able to use. I still cannot get into any site now so I can redo online checkin :(

I have not done on line check in. I was prompted to customize my bands, make FP + reservations simply by logging into MDE. My AP and resort confirmation were already linked to my account prior.

Are you taking Magical Express? Many of us used that number and it worked. Not sure if your check-in date is the culprit.
