Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

Not to be a pessimist (but I will be for the sake of argument). Is it just me, or does it seem like those of us who are apparently not in the FP+ September test group may be completely out of luck in terms of fast pass availability? and may be forced into standby for everything? We are staying at WL 9/20 - 9/27. It appears about half of resorts are involved. The previous test only involved a small percentage of resort guests, which made the impact on non test guest minamal at worst. but this one looks to be involving a significant number of guests, thus making the impact on those not involved a lot greater. I don't meen to be negative, just thought i'd bring this fact up, who knows, it could be everyone is involved and my points will be meaningless.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I have a RO reservation so I can't make advanced FP+ choices and I'm not worried at all, will do regular FP+ when I get to the parks. I could be wrong, but I think there will be plenty of FastPasses available outside of FP+ :-)

The good thing about FP+ is that the imagineers can anticipate crowd levels for a certain attraction on a certain day and basically use FP+ to redirect people to other ends of the parks or other attractions, based on the FP+ availability they release to guests.

In case I am not mistaken, the guests using FP+ will not be able to access FP 1.0 because they will have a Magicband instead of a KttW card. Which can only mean more availability.

Eventually this is the plan, but from all accounts, all magic band fastpass+ testers have still been given regular KTTW cards and are able to get regular paper fastpasses along with using their predetermined 3 fastpasses from fastpass+.

Well, that is kind of a bummer then. When I did beta testing for FP+ in December, we didn't even end up using other FPs just because we were so consumed with doing our FP+. Hopefully this is the scenario for most people. I read somewhere that Disney has said only 30% of its guests actually utilize FP, anyway.

do you have your park tickets linked to the account thats how people are able to book the fp+ or a annual pass linked.

Yep. DH and I have APs and I linked my son's park hopper with 5 days on it. They have been linked in MDE for a while now. Still no fp+ for me.

Bummer? I think it's awesome, and really one of the only reasons I'm excited to use FP+ again (we were also testers this past Sept). The ability to have FP+ and regular FP is great. It does make planning your FP+ selections a little tricky though, since you can easily overlap paper FP and FP+ times if you're not careful.

If I ONLY had FP+, with a limit of three attractions, I would not be happy.

I'm 100% in agreement. I'm having a hard time staying positive being on the outside looking in knowing I'm missing out on something.

To your point, there can't be unlimited FP's available to each ride each day, so if half of the FP's are given out with FP+, then that leaves less for the rest of us. To be fair, it wouldn't matter what % is given out for FP+, it simply reduces the amount of FP's available to the rest.

I have a bigger problem if FP+ continue to be able to double dip for additional regular FP's or secure fast passes for attactions/events (like fireworks and parades) that non FP+ holders are simply not included in.

I still don't understand how my resort choice we made months ago somehow limits my Disney experience?

I am at Pop from 9/16-9/19, and am able to make fastpass+ reservations today. When I first signed in, I got the screen about customize your magicband now, and I got all excited and clicked, but then it just took me to the same ole page where you can activate or deactivate each card. Weird.

I'm struggling to accept this too. Especially since some of the hotels getting this we considered but went with a different hotel. And I have seen people switch but I was excited about Wilderness Lodge. Le sigh.

It's a bummer because I haven't been selected to have FP+ this time around. No one wants the guest next to them to have twice as many FP opportunities as they do ;)

This is all still the testing phase and not fully rolled out, so regular paper FP's will still be available.

I saw some people post that they switched yesterday as well. Does anyone know if after switching to another resort if they received FP+?

same here, i dont think it was a big deal when a very small amount of guests / resorts were involved, but with a significant increase, it does seem a bit arbitrary. Maybe someone should call and make a major "stink" about how your trip may be impacted.

I know some people who booked single day ROs at Pop or switched to Pop have already ordered bands.

Oh, I see. Sorry about that. :guilty::guilty: I guess that probably came across as "rubbing it in". That truly wasn't my intent. I thought you were part of the testing group too.

At least the regular FP will still be available. To be honest, I use FP+ as a backup system to the regular FP's anyway. (at least right now while you can do both simultaneously) I plan to use the paper FP's the fullest as we have before, and use the FP+'s in case we miss some. They will be there for using if needed.

I have a RO at the Poly and was able to make advance FP+

My parents and my family have separate reservations at the Poly in about 3 weeks and we were both allowed to make FP+ selections this morning; however, we can't seem to customize the MBs. Still trying to figure that one out. Both reservations are packages.

Some hotels Aren't all the way online it seems. Poly and POR are giving FP+ and no bands for now. But the same thing happened a couple days ago for pop and eventually bands came online.

I have none of the above so....

Not all pop guest can customize mb's if they have FP+ choices

My thoughts exactly. I may not post on here very often, but I read this website at least twice a day. WHile I am happy for all the people that get to try out the new latest and greatest, I can't help feeling like we are going to feel the brunt of the "good fortune" bestowed upon others while waiting in lines for rides or peering between people's shoulders for parades.

We saved and saved to be able to stay at the WL for our DD's first trip to the World, and I am kinding of feeling a little burned by our decision to give Disney more of our hard earned dollars to get less benefits at this point. Hopefully magicbands and FP+ will still be around by the time we can make it back in 4 or 5 years.

Now I am going to pull my big girl panties up and stop feeling sorry for myself. :wave2:

Just my two cents. We've gone in the fall before (actually 4 times) and have ridden every single ride at least twice. And, used fastpasses once...for toy story mania. Hope you have a similar experience!
