Any Sailors (Sailboats) and Sailing Schools

I posted this on the Comm. Board, but maybe some families here can add some advice.

Hi all,

DH has gotten the sailing bug. He just bought his dad's 22' Catalina and loves it. Of my twins - my DS loves it and DD not so much (I think she is scared when it leans )Well, for me, I have always had a blast when I was on sailboats - but...

1. I can't swim. I have tried to learn at the local Y and I am certainly not afraid of the water. All of us always make sure we wear a life jacket when we are out on the boat. Do any of you who enjoy sailing not know how to swim?

2. I think it would be a great family activity if we could all learn more. Has anyone ever been to a sailing school with your family? We live in southeast PA and I know there are some pretty good schools in MD. Heck, I was thinking a family vacation somewhere and going to a sailing school as part of the vacation.

So, any good books to read and learn from any good videos, any other hints or comments? We went to the Annapolis boat show last year and whoa - what beautiful boats.

Our sailboat is in a marina in Elkton, MD on the Bohemia River. A very pretty area.
